Expected: 28/10/2026Fortaleza Añejo is a tequila with a strongly traditional heart. It comes from the Valle de Tequila in Mexico and is made from 100% blue agave grown on Cerro de Tequila. The production method is deliberately old-school: the agave is cooked in a stone oven, fully crushed by tahona, fermented in the open air in wooden pipones and double distilled in copper stills.
After 18 months in American oak, this añejo takes on a medium to dark golden colour and a richer side of Fortaleza. The maturation brings caramel, cinnamon, honey, nutmeg, wood sugars and spice, while the agave remains present through soft agave honey, baked agave, mineral notes and a freshly worked earth character.

Fortaleza Winter 2023 is a special reposado release built around a yearly idea: take Fortaleza's classic Reposado and reinterpret it through a distinctive blend. Rather than presenting a fixed house style in the usual way, this edition gives the reposado a different frame, shaped by a carefully chosen mix of oak casks.
The 2023 blend brings together tequila matured in several cask types. American oak casks that previously held Charanda were used, alongside French oak casks that had previously held Winter Blend 2022 and originally Oloroso sherry, plus Hungarian oak casks that had also held Winter Blend 2022 and originally Tokaji. These twelve casks were finally blended with Fortaleza's classic Reposado and adjusted to 44% ABV.
