This Miltonduff 10 Year Old from Gordon & MacPhail belongs to the Discovery range, a series created to present single malts through clear flavour directions. Here, the focus is firmly on sherry, with maturation in a sherry butt and bottling at 43%.
Miltonduff's naturally fresh, floral new make still shows through beneath the richer sherry influence. That gives this Speyside single malt its charm: amber in the glass, with chocolate, orange and stewed fruit taking the lead, yet with enough lift to keep the whisky from feeling heavy.

Miltonduff 1998 Christmas Edition 2015 from Malts of Scotland is built around a very precise whisky story: one Speyside single malt, one Sherry Hogshead, bottled at cask strength. Distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2015, it carries its vintage and cask identity clearly rather than presenting itself as a standard release.
Only 322 bottles came from this single cask. Miltonduff 1990 #3809 is a fine example of why independent bottlings can be so rewarding. Berry Bros & Rudd, active in the drinks world since 1698, uses its Berry's Exceptional Casks range for whiskies and rums that stand apart through origin, cask selection or a flavour profile with something extra to say.
This Speyside single malt draws much of its interest from Miltonduff itself. The distillery is described as one that can be overlooked because much of its production goes into blends, yet older casks of 20 years and beyond develop a character of their own. Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2023, this release spent 33 years maturing in a hogshead.

Miltonduff 2012 11 Year Old is a Speyside single malt with a very focused identity. Bottled by Alistair Walker for the Infrequent Flyers series, it comes from a single cask rather than a broad vatting, so the whisky reflects one particular maturation path.
The Oloroso finish gives this release much of its depth, while the cask strength bottling at 59.4% keeps the presentation bold and direct. With 651 bottles produced and the remaining stock now down to the last bottles, it has the feel of a limited release that is becoming increasingly scarce.

Miltonduff is not a name you see every day as a standalone single malt, and that is a large part of the appeal here. According to the available information, much of the distillery's production is used for Ballantine's blends, so an independent single malt bottling like this gives a more direct view of what Miltonduff can show on its own.
This 10 year old release was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2024 by Campbeltown Whisky Company under the Watt Whisky label. It comes from a single hogshead and was bottled at cask strength, 57.1%, with only 325 bottles drawn from the cask. Rather than a repeated house style, it captures one particular cask at one particular point in its maturation.
