Stauning Rye 2017 (Berry Bros Nordic Casks)

Stauning Rye 2017 shows a very defined side of Danish rye whisky. Bottled by Berry Bros as part of the Nordic Casks range, it focuses on origin, cask selection and the direct presence that comes with bottling at natural strength.
This is a single cask release, distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2022. Its Moscatel maturation gives the whisky a distinctive cask angle, while the 58.9% ABV keeps the expression firm and unsoftened. Rather than a broad house-style release, it feels like a close look at one particular cask.
Only 254 bottles were filled, and with the last bottles now in circulation, it has a naturally limited character. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we place in front of customers who enjoy rye whisky with a clear sense of origin (…)
