Don Jose 1995 17y is a molasses-based rum from Panama, distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2012 after 17 years of maturation. Rather than a regular large-batch release, this is a single cask bottling from Whisky Agency & Daily Dram, bottled at cask strength at 52.9%.
That gives the rum a very specific identity. It comes from one Bourbon Barrel and was produced in a traditional column style, with the supplied profile pointing towards a clear presence of wood, spice and fruit, supported by a lighter floral side.
