Courvoisier is a cognac brand originating from France and is part of the so-called big four cognac houses. The house has its roots in the early 19th century, officially established around 1828. Production takes place in Jarnac, a town in the heart of the Cognac region. Courvoisier is known for working with grapes from different cru's, including Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and Fins Bois, which makes the flavors balanced and full of character. The brand uses traditional production methods such as double distillation in copper pot stills and ages its cognacs in carefully selected French oak barrels. Over the years Courvoisier has developed various cognac styles, from VS to XO and more exclusive older bottlings. The brand is often associated with a smooth, approachable style with aromas of flowers and fruit, which are characteristic of many of their expressions.
