About DON FULANO
Don Fulano is the product of the Fonseca family, who have been cultivating and distilling agave for 5 generations. Their story starts in Atotonilco, a town in the highlands of Jalisco. As descendants of Portuguese immigrants, the family quickly gained respect as farmers and operated a shop in the city. Late in the 19th century, they began cultivating agave, which they sold to the first local tequila distillers in the region. This is how they gradually became the largest local suppliers of agave. In the 1980s, they acquired their own distillery when they were able to take over the legendary La Tequilena. Enrique Fonseca had already learned a lot about tequila in Mexico, but decided to further expand his knowledge of distillation with a study trip through Europe. Both in France and in Scotland he learned essential things that would lift his own product to a higher level.
