Product info about The Lost Explorer Reposado
The Lost Explorer Reposado is a Mexican tequila from Amatitán, in the volcanic soils of Jalisco. It is made from 100% blue Weber agave, harvested after 6 to 7 years of growth once fully mature. That matters here, because the agave remains the core of the tequila, even with the added depth of maturation.Production is carried out in small batches under Maestro Tequilero Enrique de Colsa. The piñas are slowly cooked for 48 to 60 hours in traditional stone ovens, then pressed, fermented and double distilled. The Lost Explorer follows an additive-free approach, using only agave, water and yeast.
For the Reposado, the brand starts from its Blanco tequila and matures it in three types of cask: French oak from Château Rieussec in Sauternes, American oak Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and American oak bourbon casks. In the tequila selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this stands out as a Reposado where cask influence adds texture and warmth without pushing the agave into the background.
