Château Mauvesin Barton 2019 is a red Bordeaux from Moulis-en-Médoc, in the northern Médoc on the left bank of the Gironde. The estate has been owned by the Barton Sartorius family since 2011, and this vintage belongs to that renewed chapter of the château.The blend is led by merlot, supported by cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. That composition reflects the estate's vineyard setting, with clay-gravel soils and fine gravel with sandy pebbles giving the wine its Médoc identity: ripe fruit, freshness, structure and a measured influence of oak.
Fermentation and maceration take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by 12 to 15 months in French oak barrels, about one third of them new. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a Bordeaux for customers who enjoy a classic left-bank frame but still want clear fruit and approachability in the glass.
Serve it at around 16 to 18 °C. With younger bottles, a little air can help the wine open up, especially alongside veal, beef, lamb, duck, game, mushrooms, savoury pasta dishes or semi-hard cheeses.

Château Mauvesin Barton is a wine estate in the French region of Bordeaux, specifically located in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation within the famous Médoc area. The estate has a long history dating back to the 15th century, but in 2011 it entered a new chapter when it was taken over by the Barton family, known for other renowned Medoc chateaus such as Léoville Barton and Langoa Barton. Since then, Château Mauvesin Barton has been managed with great attention to tradition and precision, with the expertise of the family playing a clear role. The vineyards cover about 50 hectares and are planted mainly with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, reflecting the typicity of the region and the blends characteristic of these Bordeaux wines.
