Château Mauvesin Barton 2019 is a red Bordeaux from Moulis-en-Médoc, in the northern Médoc on the left bank of the Gironde. The estate has been owned by the Barton Sartorius family since 2011, and this vintage belongs to that renewed chapter of the château.
The blend is led by merlot, supported by cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. That composition reflects the estate's vineyard setting, with clay-gravel soils and fine gravel with sandy pebbles giving the wine its Médoc identity: ripe fruit, freshness, structure and a measured influence of oak.

Château Mauvesin Barton 2020 is a dry red Bordeaux from Moulis-en-Médoc on the left bank of the Gironde. In this vintage, Cabernet Sauvignon takes the lead, supported by Merlot and a smaller share of Cabernet Franc. That gives the wine a recognisably Médoc feel: structured, dark-fruited and classically framed.
The grapes come from the estate's own vineyards, where clay, gravel, fine gravel and sandy gravel all play a role across the different parcels. Fermentation and maceration take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by 12 to 15 months in French oak barriques, around one third of them new. The oak brings toast, spice and gentle roasted nuances, while the tasting notes do not describe it as dominant.

Château Mauvesin Barton 2021 is a dry red Bordeaux from Moulis-en-Médoc, on the Left Bank of Bordeaux. It is the château's main wine, produced by the Barton Sartorius family estate. That name matters here: the family is also connected with Château Léoville Barton and Château Langoa Barton in Saint-Julien.
The 2021 vintage shaped the wine in a very clear way. A cool, changeable growing season meant that full ripeness arrived late, with Cabernet Sauvignon reaching its full expression in early October. The blend reflects that: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Merlot. Rather than weight or power, this vintage is about freshness, structure and a more precise Bordeaux character.
