Product info about Chateau Lafon Rochet 2016
Château Lafon-Rochet 2016 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Estèphe, produced by a historic estate classified as a Fourth Growth in the 1855 classification. It is the château's Grand Vin, built around Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot completing the blend.The fruit comes from vineyards on deep gravel and gravel over clay, harvested by hand from late September into October. Fermentation took place in concrete and stainless-steel vats, followed by at least twelve months in barrique. The result stays close to the Saint-Estèphe identity: structured, firm and ageworthy, yet with a refined feel to the tannins.

Château Lafon-Rochet is a winery from the Bordeaux region in France, located in the famous Saint-Estèphe, one of the four major villages in the Médoc. This château is classified as a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé according to the legendary 1855 classification system, which places it among the higher ranks of Bordeaux wines. The origins of Lafon-Rochet date back to the 17th century, although it acquired its current name only in the 19th century through the merging of the Lafon and Rochet families. The estate is situated on a strategic location on a gravel-covered hill, which provides optimal drainage for the vines and characteristic terroir influences on the wine. The property covers approximately 40 hectares and is mainly planted with the classic Bordeaux grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Lafon-Rochet is known for producing powerfully structured wines with good aging potential, typical of Saint-Estèphe, but with an elegant balance and finesse.
