Château La Conseillante 2016 is the grand vin of Château La Conseillante in Pomerol, Bordeaux. The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, drawn from an estate vineyard of around 11.8 hectares with grey clay and sandy gravel soils. It is a Pomerol with real depth, yet the available notes repeatedly point to aromatic lift and precision rather than weight alone.The 2016 growing season at the château moved through clear contrasts: a very wet spring, a hot and dry summer, then a favourable late season that allowed harvesting to take place over an extended period without pressure. The grapes were hand-picked in small crates, and the wine matured for 18 months, mostly in new French oak barriques. In the tasting descriptions, that oak appears as a supporting frame rather than a dominant feature.

Château La Conseillante is one of the most renowned wineries in the Bordeaux region and comes from the heart of the Pomerol appellation, an area that is valued worldwide for its elegant and powerful red wines. The château owes its name to Catherine Conseillan, who led the estate in the 18th century and decided to attach her surname to the property. Today, the vineyard covers approximately 12 hectares, most of which is planted with merlot and a smaller portion with cabernet franc. The location on the typical clay and gravel soils of Pomerol contributes to the distinctive character of the wines: velvety, often with pronounced aromas of red fruit, violets, and sometimes subtle truffle notes.
