Product info about Kersenwijn 50cl
Hoenshof Kersenwijn 50cl is a Belgian fruit wine from Borgloon, built around cherries rather than simply flavoured by them. Cordia, griotte du nord and noordkriek cherries form the base, bringing together sweet and sour cherry varieties in one wine.Its character comes from a careful process. The different cherries are picked and fermented separately. After 24 hours of maceration, fermentation continues for around 4 to 6 weeks, before the juice is cooled and filtered to stop the process. The separate cherry wines are then blended into the final result.
There is also a strong family and fruit-growing background behind this bottle. The land worked by Hoenshof has been connected to the Houben family since 1907, and the old standard cherry orchards are still present as protected landscape.
