Michele Chiarlo Barolo Cerequio Riserva 2010 is rooted in one clearly defined place: Cerequio, a historic Barolo cru between La Morra and Barolo. The wine is made from Nebbiolo grown in a small selection within the vineyard, with vines planted in 1972 on calcareous marl and clay soils at around 350 metres altitude.For Michele Chiarlo, 2010 was a classic year, helped by a sunny, dry September in the final stretch before harvest. This Riserva is produced only in excellent vintages and in limited quantities. After hand harvesting, it was given a long maturation before release: around three years in large wooden casks, followed by three years of bottle ageing.

Michele Chiarlo is an Italian wine producer from Piemonte, founded in 1956 by Michele Chiarlo himself. The family company has been active since the beginning in one of the most highly regarded wine regions of Northern Italy, and has strongly focused on producing wines that reflect the character of the region. The vineyards of Michele Chiarlo are mainly located in the most famous Piemontese zones, including Barolo and Barbaresco for the red wines from the Nebbiolo grape, but also in regions such as Asti for Barbera and Moscato, among others. Quality and terroir are central in the winery's approach; a lot of attention is paid to sustainable viticultural practices and a careful selection of grapes. The assortment of Michele Chiarlo ranges from fresh, floral white wines to structured, complex red wines that are typical for Piemonte. The wines of the house are known for their balance and accessibility, and are appreciated worldwide. Nowadays, the company is still led by the Chiarlo family, with the next generation actively involved in the management and preservation of the family tradition.
