Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2019 Demi is the 37.5 cl half-bottle of the estate's first wine, from a Sauternes property classified as 1er Grand Cru Classé in 1855. The bottle is smaller, but the wine inside is the same cuvée as the regular Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2019: a sweet white wine from Bordeaux with 13.5% alcohol.The 2019 vintage in Sauternes was shaped by a mild winter, a very wet spring and a hot summer with strong storms. Rain in September encouraged Botrytis cinerea on ripe grapes, followed by warmer, drier weather that brought rapid concentration. The main selection for this wine was harvested between 10 and 14 October, from a blend of 93% sémillon and 7% sauvignon blanc.
Fermentation and ageing took place in 225-litre French oak barrels, with twelve months in barriques, one third of them new, followed by a further six months in stainless steel tanks. That combination supports the wine's generous sweetness while keeping the freshness and aromatic lift described in the tasting notes.

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is a historic wine estate located in the Sauternes region in Bordeaux, France, an area internationally renowned for its sweet white wines. The winery traces its origins to the 17th century and has had various owners over the centuries. Since 1855, Lafaurie-Peyraguey has held the status of Premier Cru Classé, a designation granted to the best Sauternes vineyards during the famous Bordeaux classification. The estate has vineyards in the heart of the appellation, with a terroir that is ideal for cultivating sémillon, sauvignon blanc, and muscadelle, the traditional grape varieties for Sauternes. Production is characterized by careful hand-picking in several passes, selecting grapes affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea).
