Flavour notes
Deep ruby in colour, with a nose centred on dark and black fruit: blackcurrant, blackberry and dark berries. Spiced notes are joined by a light smoky touch, sandalwood, warm stone and subtle wood tones that feel well integrated. On the palate it sits between medium-bodied and full-bodied, with fresh acidity and fine, almost silky tannins. There is tension on the attack, a continued dark-fruit core and a long, spiced finish where the oak influence remains discreet.

Product info about Chateau Rahoul Rouge 2016 Magnum (1,5l)
Château Rahoul Rouge 2016 Magnum is a red Graves from Bordeaux in the generous 1.5-litre format. It is the red grand vin of Château Rahoul, an estate in Portets with a history dating back to 1646. The 2016 vintage saw a wet period followed by extended drought, with warm and sunny weather in the second half of September helping the red wines develop colour, tannin and concentration. The blend is led by merlot, supported by cabernet sauvignon and a small proportion of petit verdot. The grapes come from sandy gravel and clay-gravel soils in Graves, and the estate works separately by grape variety and soil type. Manual sorting, a cold pre-fermentation maceration and 12 months in barriques, with a moderate share of new oak, all form part of the wine's production.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this magnum stands out through the combination of Bordeaux origin, 2016 vintage and large-bottle presentation. It has the kind of table presence that suits roasted or grilled meats, lamb, duck, poultry, mushroom dishes and cheese. The wine has also received strong outside recognition, including 92 points from James Suckling and 2 stars from Guide Hachette, where it was placed in the vin remarquable category.
With only the last bottles available, this is a particularly appealing choice for serving a mature Graves with a clear estate identity and a format made for sharing.
