Château Canon 2015 in magnum is a Saint-Émilion with real presence. It is the grand vin of Château Canon, from the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, and for this vintage it is identified as Saint-Émilion 1er Grand Cru Classé B. The 1.5-litre bottle is not a separate cuvée, but the magnum format gives this Bordeaux a distinctive place at the table or in a well-considered cellar.The blend is led by Merlot, at 72%, with 28% Cabernet Franc. In the clay-limestone setting of Canon, Merlot brings fruit, roundness and texture, while Cabernet Franc adds structure, freshness and length. The limestone plateau is central to the wine's identity, with many tasting descriptions pointing to precision, tension and a refined mineral line.
The production details underline the same sense of care: hand harvesting in small crates, manual selection, parcel-by-parcel vinification and 18 months of ageing in French oak barrels, 70% of them new. About CH CANON
Château Canon is a well-known winery from France, located in the heart of the famous wine region Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux. The estate covers approximately 34 hectares and is mainly planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, grape varieties that are typical for the region. Château Canon has a rich history dating back to the 18th century and owes its name to Jacques Kanon, a former owner who bought the property in the middle of the 18th century. Since then, the château has had several owners, and since 1996 it has been part of the French luxury group Chanel, which invests heavily in both the winery and its reputation. Canon is internationally known as a Premier Grand Cru Classé B within the classification of Saint-Émilion, which is a serious indicator of quality. The vineyards are situated on the characteristic limestone plateaus of Saint-Émilion and benefit from an excellent terroir. Château Canon mainly produces elegant and balanced wines that are often praised for their refinement, finesse, and their ability to age well.
