Château Latour 2011 Demi is the Grand Vin of Château Latour from Pauillac, offered here in a 37.5 cl half bottle. The format is smaller, but the wine is the same Grand Vin: a dry red Bordeaux from an estate classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification.The 2011 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and a small proportion of Petit Verdot. The grapes for the Grand Vin come from the oldest vines in l'Enclos, close to the Gironde, where gravel-rich soils lie over clay. That background gives the wine a clear Pauillac identity: structured, precise and shaped around dark fruit, freshness and firm yet refined tannins.
The growing season in 2011 was unusual, with a dry cold winter, a warm dry spring, a heat spike at the end of June and a cooler summer before a warm, largely dry September. Château Latour considers 2011 a good year, and the wine received strong recognition from several international critics. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this demi-bottle is a particularly attractive way to approach a serious Bordeaux when a full bottle is not needed.
Serving at around 16 to 18 °C is advised, with decanting recommended. It has the structure for red meat, lamb, game and poultry, and enough presence to make the serving moment feel properly considered. As these are last bottles, availability is naturally limited.

Château Latour is one of the most famous names from the Bordeaux region in France and is especially known as a producer of prestigious red wine. The estate is located in the Pauillac appellation, on the left bank of the Gironde, where the terroir is internationally valued for its extremely suitable conditions for viticulture. Château Latour has a rich history that dates back to the 14th century, but was mainly recognized as a winery in its current form from the 17th century onwards. The estate is registered as Premier Grand Cru Classé according to the famous 1855 classification, and is therefore officially part of the highest category within Bordeaux. The vineyards of Château Latour are mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The wines of the estate are known for their power, concentration, and remarkable ageing potential, making them popular among connoisseurs for collecting. Today, Château Latour continues to distinguish itself with a carefully controlled production process where quality always comes first, something that has been passed down from generation to generation.
