Château de Rayne Vigneau is based in Bommes, in the Sauternais, and has a historic classified standing in that region. This wine, however, is made as Bordeaux Blanc Sec: dry, still, white and entirely from Sauvignon Blanc.The Sauvignon Blanc used for this cuvée comes from vines set aside specifically for this dry white wine. Fermentation takes place in 80-hectolitre wooden vats designed to allow bâtonnage on the lees. That matters in the glass, because the wine is built around freshness while also gaining a softer, more velvety feel.
