Tenuta di Nozzole Il Pareto 2000 is a Tuscan red in which Cabernet Sauvignon is deliberately placed at the centre. The wine comes from Greve in Chianti, in the northern part of the Chianti Classico area, yet it is released as Toscana Rosso I.G.T. and belongs to the Supertuscan style. For Il Pareto, the grape composition is stated as 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from the Pareto vineyard at Tenuta di Nozzole.The estate is part of Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute. The Folonari family acquired Tenuta di Nozzole in 1971, and Il Pareto first appeared with the 1987 vintage. It is made only in selected years, giving this 2000 bottle a clear identity: an older vintage of a Tuscan Cabernet Sauvignon cru from within the Chianti Classico zone.
Il Pareto is vinified in stainless steel, followed by maturation in French oak barriques and further bottle ageing. With a bottle from 2000, maturity is part of the conversation.
