Château Durfort-Vivens 2020 in demi-bottle is the estate's grand vin presented in a 37.5 cl format. It is a thoughtful size for opening a serious Margaux without committing to a full bottle, while still staying with the identity of the château and the vintage.The 2020 blend is led by cabernet sauvignon with merlot in support. The fruit comes from the château's vineyards in Margaux, Cantenac and Soussans, planted on deep gravel soils with sandy to clay subsoils. Durfort-Vivens works organically and biodynamically, a direction that has become an important part of the estate's place among the classified growths of Margaux.
The winemaking was carried out parcel by parcel, with natural yeasts and restrained extraction. Ageing lasted 18 months, split between new oak barriques and TAVA amphorae, a combination that says a great deal about the current Durfort-Vivens style: structured, precise and driven by tension rather than heaviness.
Within the Bordeaux range at Drankenshop Broekmans, this half bottle stands out as a compact way to experience a highly regarded Margaux vintage. The château indicates drinking from 2025 with a peak around 2040, and the remaining availability is limited to the last bottles in our selection.

Chateau Durfort-Vivens is a French winery located in the Margaux appellation, in the Bordeaux region. The domaine has a long history that dates back to the 17th century and received its current name after being acquired by the Vivens family in the 19th century. Today, Chateau Durfort-Vivens is owned by Gonzague Lurton, who has continued the winery in the Bordeaux tradition with an emphasis on respect for the terroir. The vineyards are located mainly on gravel-rich soils, which is typical for Margaux and contributes to the elegant style of the wines. Durfort-Vivens was classified as Deuxieme Cru (Second Growth) in 1855 during the famous Bordeaux classification; this indicates the historical relevance and the quality level that the chateau pursues.
