Château Cantenac Brown 2020 is the grand vin of this classified Margaux estate in the Médoc. The blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, with 67% cabernet sauvignon and 33% merlot, and only 51% of the harvest was selected for the final wine. That selectivity is an important part of the story here: this is the château's main wine, shaped around concentration and precision.The 2020 vintage brought lower yields and concentrated fruit. In response, the château fermented at temperatures 4 to 5 °C lower than usual, aiming to preserve fruit aromatics and avoid pushing extraction too far. Maturation took place in French oak barriques, 60% new and 40% one-year-old, giving the wine structure without losing the freshness that marks the year.

Ch Cantenac Brown is a wine estate from the Bordeaux region and is located in the Margaux appellation, which is known for elegant and refined red wines based on cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc. The estate was originally founded in the early 19th century by John Lewis Brown, of Scottish origin, and was classified in 1855 as a Troisième Cru during the famous classification of the wines from the Medoc. The chateau is remarkable for its English Tudor-style architecture, which is quite unique in Bordeaux. Ch Cantenac Brown owns about 48 hectares of vineyard with mainly clay and gravel soils, which are favorable for the ripening of the grapes and the character of the wine. The wine estate has changed ownership several times over the years, but currently it belongs to a private investor who focuses on quality and sustainability. The wines from this estate are often known for their structure, fine balance and their potential to age.
