Product info about Matarromera Reserva 2018
Matarromera Reserva 2018 is a red Ribera del Duero Reserva built around Tempranillo. It comes from Bodega Matarromera, founded in 1988 by Carlos Moro in Valbuena de Duero, in the Duero valley. For this Reserva, the winery works with selected plots near Olivares de Duero, including Las Celadillas and Las Solanas.Its depth is closely linked to the vineyards behind it. The vines used for this wine are over 25 years old, planted on limestone-rich soils at more than 750 metres above sea level. Smaller bunches and berries bring concentration in colour and polyphenols, giving the wine the structure expected from a full, oak-aged Ribera del Duero Reserva.
The 2018 vintage spent 12 months in American and French oak and was bottled in April 2020. The oak ageing frames the ripe dark fruit with notes of cacao, coffee, vanilla and spice, while keeping the Tempranillo character firmly in view.

About MATARROMERA
Matarromera is a Spanish winery that has its origins in the prestigious Ribera del Duero wine region. It was founded in 1988 by Carlos Moro, who comes from a family with a long winemaking tradition. Central to the story of Matarromera is a combination of innovation and respect for traditional Spanish viticulture. The winery has several vineyards spread over the best parts of Ribera del Duero, with a strong focus on the tempranillo grape, which is called Tinta del País in this region.
