Château Larcis Ducasse 2021 is the estate's grand vin, from Saint-Émilion Grand Cru and classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé. In the Bordeaux selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, it stands out as a Right Bank wine shaped less by sheer richness and more by freshness, line and precision.The 2021 blend is 86% merlot and 14% cabernet franc, grown on the château's own vineyards. The estate's limestone-clay soils, terraces and slopes around Saint-Émilion play an important role here, with vines averaging 35 years of age. Harvesting was carried out entirely by hand, and the grand vin was made with strict selection.
This was a demanding vintage, marked by frost risk, disease pressure, wet conditions and a summer with less light than usual. At Larcis Ducasse, that translated into a fresher aromatic profile and a different balance from warmer years, with less emphasis on concentration. Maturation lasted 16 to 18 months in barriques, split between new barrels and one-year-old barrels, giving support without making oak the main subject.
With production noted at around 2,400 cases and only the last bottles remaining, this Saint-Émilion is especially interesting for its vintage expression. It has the structure for further bottle age and sits naturally alongside red meat, lamb, poultry or mushroom-based dishes.

Château Larcis Ducasse is a wine estate located in Saint-Émilion, on the right bank of the Bordeaux region in France. The estate belongs to the appellation Saint-Émilion Grand Cru and is known for its long history of viticulture dating back to the nineteenth century. The vineyards cover about 11 hectares and are planted mainly with Merlot, complemented by a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc. Due to the combination of limestone slopes and an optimal microclimate, the grapes can ripen well here, which contributes to the quality of the wines. Château Larcis Ducasse is considered one of the Saint-Émilion Premier Grand Cru Classés, a designation awarded to vineyards with a special reputation. In the cellar, traditional vinification methods are used, paying great attention to preserving terroir expression and balance in the wine.
