It is separate from the château's Saint-Julien wine and from Duluc de Branaire-Ducru, yet it is made by the same estate. That is part of its appeal: it brings the Branaire-Ducru approach into a wine from Cussac, close to Saint-Julien.The 2019 vintage is a blend of 54% cabernet sauvignon and 46% merlot. The fruit comes from a small 2.9-hectare vineyard on a plateau of fine gravel soils, harvested by hand and vinified with the same careful mindset used for the estate's Saint-Julien grapes. Around 12 months of ageing in barrique gives the wine structure while keeping the focus on fruit and freshness.

About CH BRANAIRE DUCRU
Château Branaire-Ducru is a well-known winery from the French Bordeaux region, more specifically from the Saint-Julien appellation in the Médoc. The winery traces its roots back to the 17th century and has been classified as Quatrième Grand Cru Classé since 1855, which places it in the fourth category of classified Bordeaux wines within the famous classification of that year. The vineyards cover about 60 hectares and are situated on well-drained gravel soils, which is favorable for the ripening of the grapes. Château Branaire-Ducru focuses strongly on the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, typical for the region. The house style is generally characterized by elegant structure, balance, and a refined expression of fruit, without overly heavy extraction. Under the leadership of the Maroteaux family, who have managed the château since the late 1980s, there has been continuous investment in quality and the modernization of techniques, with respect for tradition.
