Chateau Branaire Ducru 2021

Château Branaire-Ducru 2021 shows Saint-Julien in a classical, finely drawn style. This is the grand vin of Château Branaire-Ducru, a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 Médoc classification, grown on gravelly alluvial soils in the southern part of the appellation.
The 2021 vintage has a cooler, more Atlantic feel than the warmer years that came before it. A slow ripening season helped preserve acidity, giving the wine a more precise line rather than a broad, opulent profile. It is a Bordeaux built around freshness, structure and clear fruit definition.
Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend at 66%, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. That explains much of the wine's personality: firm Cabernet-driven shape, (…)Chateau Branaire Ducru 2021 Demi (37,5cl)

Chateau Branaire Ducru 2021 Demi (37,5cl)
In stock
Château Branaire-Ducru 2021 Demi is the estate's grand vin from Saint-Julien, offered here in the 37.5 cl half-bottle format. It is a red Bordeaux from the Left Bank and comes from a château classified as a Fourth Growth in the 1855 classification.
The 2021 vintage has a distinctly classical feel. Compared with 2018, 2019 and 2020, the year was cooler and wetter, and the wine is described less in terms of sheer power than freshness, precision and structure. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend at 66%, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this demi bottle is especially appealing for customers who want the experience of a classified Saint-Julien without opening a full 75 cl bottle. As these are the last (…)Chateau Branaire Ducru 2021 Magnum (1,5l) Incl. Box

Château Branaire-Ducru 2021 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien, offered here in a 1.5-litre magnum. It is the grand vin of Château Branaire-Ducru, a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification. The 2021 vintage has a more classical, Atlantic feel than the warmer 2018, 2019 and 2020 releases: less about sheer weight, more about freshness, structure and precision.
The blend is built around cabernet sauvignon, at 66%, supported by 22% merlot, 6.5% cabernet franc and 5.5% petit verdot. That cabernet emphasis reflects the season, as the dry and sunny spell towards the end of the growing cycle particularly benefited the cabernets. The grapes are harvested by hand and handled by plot and variety, with gravity used to limit pumping and (…)Chateau Branaire Ducru 2022 Demi (37,5cl)

Chateau Branaire Ducru 2022 Demi (37,5cl)

Château Branaire-Ducru 2022 Demi is the estate's grand vin in a 37.5 cl half bottle. It is not a separate cuvée, but the same Saint-Julien wine in a smaller format, well suited to moments when opening a full bottle of Bordeaux is more than you need.
Branaire-Ducru is a Quatrième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, situated in Saint-Julien in the Médoc. The 2022 blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot completing the composition. The fruit comes from the château's own parcels within the appellation, on the gravelly, well-draining soils associated with this part of Bordeaux.
The 2022 growing season brought high summer temperatures and marked water stress, yet the (…)Chateau Branaire Ducru 2022 Magnum (1,5l) Incl. Box

Château Branaire-Ducru 2022 in magnum is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien and the grand vin of Château Branaire-Ducru, a Fourth Growth from the 1855 classification. The 1.5 litre format gives this vintage real presence, especially for a wine built around concentration, structure and long-term development.
The 2022 blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot. The fruit comes from the estate's vineyards in Saint-Julien, where gravelly and stony alluvial soils are central to the wine's identity. The vintage was shaped by high summer temperatures and marked water stress, yet the château reports that the grapes kept their freshness, with very small berries, ripe pips and strong phenolic potential.

Chateau Branaire-Ducru 2016
Very last one in stock!
Château Branaire-Ducru 2016 is the estate's grand vin, a Fourth Growth from the 1855 classification and a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien on the Left Bank. Cabernet sauvignon leads the blend, supported by merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc, giving the wine its sense of structure, dark-fruited depth and Médoc identity.
The 2016 vintage is a key part of the story. A cool, wet spring was followed by a long dry and sunny period in summer, while rain in mid-September helped the final stage of ripening. Harvest took place parcel by parcel from late September to mid-October, allowing the château to pick according to the maturity of each plot.
Branaire-Ducru's cellar work is precise rather than heavy-handed: hand harvesting, plot-by-plot (…)Duluc De Branaire Ducru 2019

Duluc de Branaire-Ducru 2019 is the second wine of Château Branaire-Ducru in Saint-Julien, Bordeaux. It carries the signature of a 1855 Quatrième Grand Cru Classé estate, but in a more approachable interpretation of the château's style.
The 2019 blend is built around Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with smaller proportions of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Duluc is made from part of the estate's vineyards, including younger vines, and the work in the cellar remains precise: separate vinification by grape variety and parcel, followed by 12 months in French oak barrels, around 20% of them new. The oak is there to support the wine rather than dominate its fruit.
The growing season adds an interesting layer to the story. After a cool, (…)Le Haut Medoc De Branaire Ducru 2019

Le Haut Medoc De Branaire Ducru 2019

Le Haut-Médoc de Branaire-Ducru 2019 is a red Bordeaux from the Haut-Médoc, produced by Château Branaire-Ducru. It is separate from the château's Saint-Julien wine and from Duluc de Branaire-Ducru, yet it is made by the same estate. That is part of its appeal: it brings the Branaire-Ducru approach into a wine from Cussac, close to Saint-Julien.
The 2019 vintage is a blend of 54% cabernet sauvignon and 46% merlot. The fruit comes from a small 2.9-hectare vineyard on a plateau of fine gravel soils, harvested by hand and vinified with the same careful mindset used for the estate's Saint-Julien grapes. Around 12 months of ageing in barrique gives the wine structure while keeping the focus on fruit and freshness.
