Chateau Siran 2021 is a red Margaux from Bordeaux with a distinctly classical left-bank feel. The estate describes 2021 as the year of Cabernet, and the blend reflects that clearly: cabernet sauvignon leads the wine, supported by merlot, petit verdot and a small proportion of cabernet franc.The Margaux vineyard of Château Siran sits on gravelly, siliceous soils formed from old alluvial deposits, with an average vine age of around 37 years. Grapes were selected parcel by parcel, followed by vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine then spent 12 months in fine-grained French oak barrels, 35% of them new, with the oak described in tasting notes as present but well integrated.
For Drankenshop Broekmans, the appeal of this bottle lies in its cooler, fresher Bordeaux expression. Rather than leaning on concentration, the 2021 vintage shows tension, cabernet structure and fine tannins. The relatively notable share of petit verdot is part of Château Siran's signature and, according to the estate, brings lift, spice and freshness to the final blend.

About CH SIRAN
Château Siran is a historic wine estate from the Bordeaux region, located in the Margaux appellation, south of the city of Bordeaux in France. The estate has a long history dating back to the 17th century and has been owned for generations by the same family, the Miailhe family. Château Siran is known for its classic Bordeaux wines, which are mainly made from a blend of traditional grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The vineyards are spread over a terroir with a mixture of gravel and sand, which influences the character and elegance of the wines. This estate is one of the few non-classified crus from Margaux that enjoy much recognition among enthusiasts due to their consistent quality and distinctive style. The wines are generally characterized by their refined structure, aromatic complexity and the ability to age well, making them attractive for both immediate consumption and longer storage.
