Chateau Siran 2019

Château Siran 2019 is the estate's first wine from Margaux in Bordeaux, not the second wine S de Siran. The 2019 blend combines merlot, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and a small proportion of cabernet franc, giving it a clear Médoc identity with the depth and ripeness associated with this vintage at Siran.
The wine comes from the château's 25 hectares of vineyards within Margaux, planted on fine, gravelly alluvial soils. The vines average around 30 years of age, with the oldest plots dating back to 1920. Sustainable vineyard work, no chemical herbicides, hand harvesting in small crates and manual sorting all point to a wine made with detail rather than haste.
Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, (…)Chateau Siran 2019 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau Siran 2019 Magnum is a red Bordeaux from Margaux, presented here in the generous 1.5-litre format. It is the estate's grand vin, made from its Margaux parcels in Labarde, with merlot and cabernet sauvignon forming the core of the blend, supported by petit verdot and a small share of cabernet franc.
The 2019 vintage at Siran was described by the estate as a healthy year, with no frost or hail damage, good flowering and a warm summer balanced by cool nights. The grapes were hand-harvested in small crates and hand-sorted before fermentation, followed by 12 months in French oak barriques, 35% of them new.
There is an extra piece of estate history in this release: the bottle decoration marks the 160th harvest of the Miailhe family at Siran. At Drankenshop (…)Chateau Siran 2020

Chateau Siran 2020 is the grand vin of Château Siran, from the estate's vineyards in Labarde within the Margaux appellation. This is not the second wine S de Siran, but the château's main red Bordeaux, blending merlot, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and a small proportion of cabernet franc.
The vineyards are planted on a gravel-rich rise with old alluvial deposits and fine siliceous graves. The 2020 season brought a mild, rainy winter and spring, followed by a warm, dry summer. According to the château, that combination produced generous ripe merlot, cabernet with finesse and precision, and fully ripe petit verdot.
Harvesting was carried out by hand in small crates, followed by manual sorting. Vinification took place parcel by parcel in (…)Chateau Siran 2021

Chateau Siran 2021

Chateau Siran 2021 is a red Margaux from Bordeaux with a distinctly classical left-bank feel. The estate describes 2021 as the year of Cabernet, and the blend reflects that clearly: cabernet sauvignon leads the wine, supported by merlot, petit verdot and a small proportion of cabernet franc.
The Margaux vineyard of Château Siran sits on gravelly, siliceous soils formed from old alluvial deposits, with an average vine age of around 37 years. Grapes were selected parcel by parcel, followed by vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine then spent 12 months in fine-grained French oak barrels, 35% of them new, with the oak described in tasting notes as present but well integrated.

Château Siran 2021 Magnum is a red Margaux from Bordeaux presented in a 1.5 litre bottle, a format that suits a wine made for the table and for unhurried serving. The 2021 vintage is described in a fresher, more streamlined style than the warmer years before it, with elegance and precision taking the lead.
For Siran, this is a notably cabernet-led vintage. The blend is 60% cabernet sauvignon, 28% merlot, 11% petit verdot and 1% cabernet franc. In a cooler Bordeaux year, merlot played a less dominant role, while cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot shaped the backbone of the wine. The estate's vineyard lies in Labarde within Margaux, on old alluvial soils with fine gravel, with vines averaging around 37 years of age and the oldest plots dating back to 1920.

Château Siran 2022 Demi is the grand vin of Château Siran from Margaux, presented here in a 37.5 cl half-bottle. It is not a separate cuvée, but the same Bordeaux wine in a smaller format, useful when you want to enjoy a serious Margaux without opening a full bottle.
The 2022 vintage in Bordeaux was hot and dry, giving low yields and concentrated fruit at Château Siran. The blend is 53% merlot, 36% cabernet sauvignon and 11% petit verdot. After hand harvesting and careful sorting, the wine was vinified by parcel in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and aged for 12 months in French oak barriques, 35% of them new.
Château Siran is based in Labarde, in the southern part of Margaux, and is run by Édouard Miailhe, (…)
