Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc 2021 is the white grand vin from the estate in Léognan, within the Pessac-Léognan appellation. This is not the second wine, but the château's main white wine, carrying the Grand Cru Classé de Graves classification for white.The 2021 vintage in Bordeaux was far from effortless. A mild start was followed by cold, rain and disease pressure, before drier conditions arrived towards harvest. For the white grapes, the estate describes healthy fruit with aromatic freshness and good density. The final blend, 89% Sauvignon Blanc and 11% Sémillon, clearly reflects that fresh and precise direction.
Harvesting was carried out by hand in successive selections. The wine was slowly pressed under inert gas, fermented in wooden barrels and aged for 14 months on the lees with bâtonnage in French oak, including 50% new oak. Rather than pushing the wine towards heavy oak character, the ageing supports its texture, shape and length.

About CH MALARTIC LAGRAVIERE
Château Malartic-Lagravière is a well-known wine producer from the Bordeaux region in France, specifically located in the Pessac-Lëognan appellation, part of Graves. The château has a history dating back to the eighteenth century, having known several owners before the Bonnie family took over the estate in 1997. The vineyards cover around 53 hectares and are planted with classic Bordeaux grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot for red, and Sauvignon Blanc, Sëmillon with a small proportion of Muscadelle for white. Château Malartic-Lagravière belongs to the select group of Graves vineyards that achieved cru classé status for both red and white during the 1953 classification (revised in 1959). The winery is appreciated for an elegant style and strives to produce wines that clearly express the terroir, supported by modern vinification techniques and sustainable vineyard practices.
