Flavour notes
The aromatic and flavour profile moves between red and dark fruit: redcurrant, cherry, black cherry, blackberry and blue fruit. Floral notes of lavender and rose petal add lift, while mint brings a fresh accent. On the palate, the wine is driven by fresh acidity and fine, linear tannins. Alongside the fruit come earthy and savoury details of mushroom, bark and liquorice, followed by chocolate, mocha, chalky minerality, crushed rocks and a light saline touch. The finish is described as relatively long, with a supple mouthfeel supporting the structure.

Product info about Clos De L'oratoire 2021
Clos de l'Oratoire 2021 takes us to Saint-Emilion, to a Right Bank Grand Cru Classé built mainly around merlot, with cabernet franc adding its part to the blend. The vineyard sits on the north-eastern slope of Saint-Emilion, where clay-limestone, molasse de Fronsac and clay-sandy soils shape the wine's identity. The result is firmly Bordeaux in feel: red, dry, precise, with fruit, freshness and fine tannins at the centre. The 2021 vintage is organically certified. The grapes were harvested in early October, then vinified in wooden vats with pneumatic pigeage and a long maceration. Ageing took place for 15 months on fine lees in barriques, including a proportion of new oak. These details matter because they support the style of the wine rather than dominate it: this is about tension, definition and poise rather than sheer weight.
In the Bordeaux selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle is a strong choice for anyone looking for Saint-Emilion with classification, provenance and ageing potential, while still showing the freshness and linear structure associated with the 2021 vintage. As these are the last bottles, it is also a chance to secure this particular release while it is still available.
The wine has received strong recognition from several international critics, including high scores from Vinous and James Suckling. More importantly, the notes point in the same direction: a Clos de l'Oratoire with precision, red and dark fruit, floral detail and a structure that can develop further in bottle.
The aromatic and flavour profile moves between red and dark fruit: redcurrant, cherry, black cherry, blackberry and blue fruit. Floral notes of lavender and rose petal add lift, while mint brings a fresh accent.
