Chateau Doisy Vedrines 2022 Demi is a half bottle of Sauternes from Barsac in Bordeaux. The 37.5 cl format is a very practical one: enough for a few thoughtful glasses, whether served as an aperitif, alongside cheese or on an occasion where a full bottle would simply be too much.The estate is listed as a Deuxième Cru Classé in the 1855 classification of Sauternes and Barsac. For the 2022 vintage, the blend is led by sémillon, with sauvignon blanc and a small proportion of muscadelle. The fruit comes from Haut-Barsac, where clay-limestone soils, fine gravel and the influence of the Ciron all play a role in the development of noble rot, the botrytis that gives this style its natural concentration.
The 2022 harvest took place from 3 to 28 October, with several selective passes through the vineyard. From that work, 22 lots were included in the final blend. The wine was vinified and matured in French oak barrels, around one third of them new.
