Chateau Doisy Vedrines 2020

Chateau Doisy Vedrines 2020 is a sweet white Bordeaux from Sauternes, closely linked to Barsac and its refined style of botrytised wines. The 2020 vintage is described less as a heavy, opulent Sauternes and more as a fresh, citrus-driven wine where sweetness is lifted by acidity.
The estate brings serious heritage to the bottle. Château Doisy-Védrines is a Deuxième Cru Classé from the 1855 Sauternes and Barsac classification, with vineyards on the clay-limestone rise of Haut-Barsac. That setting is reflected in the chalky, mineral nuances often mentioned in tasting descriptions of this vintage.
Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle form the blend. The grapes are harvested by hand in successive passes, selecting fruit (…)Chateau Doisy Vedrines 2020 Demi (37,5cl)

Château Doisy-Védrines 2020 Demi is a half bottle of Sauternes from Bordeaux, containing the same wine in a practical 37.5 cl format. It is a very useful size when you want to serve a serious sweet white wine with an aperitif, dessert or cheese without opening a full bottle.
The estate is based in Barsac, on the Haut-Barsac terroir within the Sauternes appellation, and is one of the 1855 Deuxième Cru Classé wines of Sauternes. For the 2020 vintage, the blend is led by sémillon, with sauvignon blanc and a small proportion of muscadelle. Noble rot plays an important role here, bringing the concentration that defines the style.
The wine spent 18 months in French oak barriques, giving shape to a rich, liqueur-like Sauternes that (…)Chateau Doisy Vedrines 2022

Chateau Doisy Vedrines 2022

Chateau Doisy Vedrines 2022 is a sweet white wine from Sauternes, produced in Barsac within Bordeaux. The estate is a Deuxième Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, and this wine is the château's grand vin. That places it firmly in a traditional Sauternes setting: carefully selected fruit, noble rot, sweetness and freshness working together.
The 2022 blend is led by sémillon, with sauvignon blanc and a small proportion of muscadelle. Harvesting took place over several picking days and selection rounds, a crucial point for Sauternes because botrytised grapes reach the right condition gradually. Ageing in French oak barriques, partly new, adds structure around the wine's naturally rich fruit.

Chateau Doisy Vedrines 2022 Demi (37,5cl)
In stock
Chateau Doisy Vedrines 2022 Demi is a half bottle of Sauternes from Barsac in Bordeaux. The 37.5 cl format is a very practical one: enough for a few thoughtful glasses, whether served as an aperitif, alongside cheese or on an occasion where a full bottle would simply be too much.
The estate is listed as a Deuxième Cru Classé in the 1855 classification of Sauternes and Barsac. For the 2022 vintage, the blend is led by sémillon, with sauvignon blanc and a small proportion of muscadelle. The fruit comes from Haut-Barsac, where clay-limestone soils, fine gravel and the influence of the Ciron all play a role in the development of noble rot, the botrytis that gives this style its natural concentration.
The 2022 harvest took place from 3 to 28 (…)
