Product info about Chateau De Camensac 2022
Château de Camensac 2022 is the red grand vin of the estate, from the Haut-Médoc appellation in Bordeaux. The château is located in Saint-Laurent-Médoc, close to the edge of Saint-Julien, and is part of the 1855 Médoc classification, generally referred to as a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé.For the 2022 vintage, the blend is 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot. That Cabernet-led composition gives the wine its Médoc structure, while the Merlot plays its part in the overall depth of the blend. The grapes are selectively hand-harvested and sorted again on arrival at the cellar before vinification. Ageing takes place for 14 to 18 months in French oak barriques, 60% of them new.
The interest here lies in the combination of classified Haut-Médoc pedigree, deep gravel soils and a vintage brought to full ripeness while retaining freshness. The estate also notes HVE 3 certification since 2021, alongside reasoned vineyard work and biodynamic trials on part of the property.

Château de Camensac is a historic winery from the Bordeaux region in France, specifically located in the appellation Haut-Médoc. The castle and vineyards have a long tradition dating back to the 18th century, but the estate gained international fame when it was included in the famous 1855 classification of the Grand Cru Classés, where it received the status of Cinquième Cru (Fifth Group). The vineyards of Château de Camensac cover about 75 hectares, featuring mainly cabernet sauvignon and merlot as grape varieties, and the viticulture takes place on typical gravel soils that are characteristic for the region. The style of the wines is known for their freshness, structure and aging potential, contemporary with a classic Bordeaux signature. Château de Camensac is nowadays managed by the Merlaut family, who work together with a dedicated team of winemakers.
