Chateau De Camensac 2019

Château de Camensac 2019 is a red Bordeaux from Haut-Médoc with a clearly left-bank personality. It is the grand vin of the estate in Saint-Laurent-Médoc and carries the Cinquième Grand Cru Classé status from the 1855 classification. With 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot, the wine leans towards structure, dark fruit and the firm, classical line associated with this part of Bordeaux.
The vineyards lie close to the border with Saint-Julien, on deep gravel soils that allow selection by plot, grape variety and vine age. The 2019 vintage was harvested selectively, then vinified with fermentation, maceration and ageing for 14 to 18 months in French oak barriques, 60% of them new. The available notes describe the oak as discreet rather than (…)Chateau De Camensac 2020

Chateau De Camensac 2020

Chateau De Camensac 2020 is a red Bordeaux from the Haut-Médoc, produced as the grand vin of Château de Camensac in Saint-Laurent-Médoc. As a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, it speaks very much in the language of the Left Bank: Cabernet Sauvignon gives the frame, Merlot adds depth and roundness.
The 2020 vintage is made from 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot. The estate's vineyards are planted on deep gravel soils, with clay over shallow limestone also playing a role. Grapes are selectively hand-harvested according to variety, vine age and terroir, followed by ageing for around 14 to 18 months in French oak barrels.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Haut-Médoc we would present (…)Chateau De Camensac 2020 Magnum (1,5l)

Château de Camensac 2020 Magnum is a red Bordeaux from the Haut-Médoc, produced at the estate in Saint-Laurent-Médoc. This is the château's grand vin and a 5ème Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification. In magnum, the 2020 vintage has an extra sense of occasion: generous in format, serious in origin and well suited to a table where Bordeaux is given time and attention.
The blend is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot. That gives the wine a distinctly Haut-Médoc shape, with dark fruit, graphite notes, fine structure and polished tannins. The vineyards are planted on deep gravel, sandy gravel and sandy clay soils, influenced by an oceanic microclimate. After selective hand harvesting and careful sorting, the wine matures (…)Chateau De Camensac 2021

Chateau De Camensac 2021

Château de Camensac 2021 is the estate's grand vin, not the second wine. The château is based in Saint-Laurent-Médoc, close to the Saint-Julien appellation, and has held Cinquième Grand Cru Classé status since the 1855 classification. It is very much a Haut-Médoc in the classical Bordeaux sense.
The 2021 vintage was not an easy one. A mild, wet winter, April frost and humid flowering conditions made careful selection important, and the year proved more favourable to Cabernet Sauvignon than to Merlot. That is reflected in the blend: 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Merlot. The grapes were selectively hand-harvested, vinified parcel by parcel and matured in French oak barriques for around 17 to 20 months.
The result is a (…)Chateau De Camensac 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau De Camensac 2021 Magnum (1,5l)

Château de Camensac 2021 Magnum is a dry red Bordeaux from the Haut-Médoc, bottled in the generous 1.5-litre format. It is the grand vin of Château de Camensac, a 5th Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, based in Saint-Laurent-Médoc on the edge of Saint-Julien.
The 2021 vintage was not an easy one, and that makes the wine particularly interesting to explain. A wet, mild start to the season, April frost and damp flowering conditions meant that Cabernet Sauvignon performed especially well. The final blend reflects that: 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Merlot, giving the wine a clearly Médoc-driven structure, freshness and dark-fruited line.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this magnum stands out because it combines (…)Chateau De Camensac 2022

Chateau De Camensac 2022

Château de Camensac 2022 is the red grand vin of the estate, from the Haut-Médoc appellation in Bordeaux. The château is located in Saint-Laurent-Médoc, close to the edge of Saint-Julien, and is part of the 1855 Médoc classification, generally referred to as a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé.
For the 2022 vintage, the blend is 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot. That Cabernet-led composition gives the wine its Médoc structure, while the Merlot plays its part in the overall depth of the blend. The grapes are selectively hand-harvested and sorted again on arrival at the cellar before vinification. Ageing takes place for 14 to 18 months in French oak barriques, 60% of them new.
The interest here lies in the (…)Chateau De Camensac 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

Chateau De Camensac 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

Château de Camensac 2022 in magnum is a proper Haut-Médoc bottle: structured, Cabernet-led and built around the quiet authority of a classified Bordeaux estate. This is the grand vin of Château de Camensac, a 5ème Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, produced within the Haut-Médoc AOP.
The estate is located in Saint-Laurent-Médoc, close to the edge of Saint-Julien. Its vineyard covers around 75 hectares in production and is divided into many individual plots, an important detail for a wine shaped by selection. The 2022 blend is 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot, with the Cabernet clearly setting the tone. Deep gravel, sandy clay and sandy gravel soils help frame the wine's Médoc identity: firm fruit, (…)La Closerie De Camensac 2020

La Closerie De Camensac 2020
In stock
La Closerie de Camensac 2020 is the second wine of Château de Camensac, a Saint-Laurent-Médoc estate associated with the 1855 classification as a fifth growth. Rather than feeling like a simplified version of the grand vin, it has its own role: a dedicated selection of parcels and lots assembled specifically for La Closerie.
For the 2020 vintage, the blend is 60% merlot and 40% cabernet sauvignon. That gives merlot a stronger voice, while the deep gravel soils and Haut-Médoc origin keep the wine firmly rooted in Bordeaux structure. The wine was made with selective harvesting and sorting, followed by around 12 months in French oak barriques, with only a modest share of new oak.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a classic but not (…)La Closerie De Camensac 2021

La Closerie de Camensac 2021 is a red Haut-Médoc from France, produced by Château de Camensac in Saint-Laurent-Médoc, close to Saint-Julien. As the second wine of the château, it offers a more direct way into the Camensac style while remaining firmly rooted in Bordeaux tradition.
The 2021 vintage was not a straightforward one. A mild, wet winter was followed by April frost, humid flowering conditions and renewed rain pressure around harvest. Even so, the grapes were brought to ripeness. The blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, with selective harvesting, sorting at the cellar, fermentation with maceration and 12 months of ageing in French oak barriques, around 10% of them new.
