Saint James Elegance 260th Anniversary is a Martinique rum created to mark 260 years of Saint James history. Rather than presenting a single vintage, the house brings together six exceptional vintages selected by Marc Sassier, the brand's oenologist and production director. That makes this release feel very much like a crafted composition, shaped by experience and by a clear sense of house style.
Made from sugar cane juice and distilled in a traditional column, it carries the earthy, vegetal side of its raw material while drawing structure from maturation in American and French oak casks. The wood and spice are clearly part of the story, supported by fruit and a gentle sweetness rather than dominated by them. At 43.5%, it has enough strength to carry that depth without (…)Hampden 7y 2018 Hgmlms#3 (Velier)

Hampden 7y 2018 Hgmlms#3 (Velier)

Hampden 7y 2018 HGMLMS#3 is a Jamaican molasses rum with a firmly defined identity. Pot still distillation, 7 years of ageing and a bottling strength of 60% all point towards a rum with real drive, rather than a soft, easy-going style.
What makes this Velier release stand out is the tension between power and refinement. The HGML character is described as moving from fruity softness into a more controlled intensity, with spice and vegetal accents adding shape. The bourbon barrel maturation gives the rum its ageing frame without taking attention away from the distillate itself.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a bottle for drinkers who enjoy focused Jamaican rum with a clear pot still backbone. The production of 1200 bottles adds to its specific nature: (…)Caroni Paradise 1994 #8 (Velier) Incl. Box

Caroni Paradise 1994 #8 is built around the character of one individual cask. Bottled by Velier, this Trinidad molasses rum was distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2024 from a single bourbon barrel. Only 195 bottles were filled, and with the last bottles now available, the sense of scarcity is part of its story.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, a release like this stands apart from broader rum bottlings. It is traditional column distilled, bottled at cask strength and presented at 58% alcohol, so the emphasis is clearly on intensity and direct cask character rather than softness or easy sweetness.
The profile points towards wood, spice and vegetal depth as the main pillars, with fruit, sweetness and floral notes playing a quieter supporting role. That makes this Caroni (…)Hampden 7y 2018 Hgmlms #3 1,5l (Velier)

Hampden 7y 2018 HGMLMS #3 1.5l is a Jamaican molasses rum where power is clearly present, but kept in check by a more refined side. The HGML mark is described here as combining fruit-led softness with controlled strength, and at 60% ABV it is very much a rum to take your time with rather than rush.
Distilled in 2018 on a pot still and matured in a Bourbon Barrel, it carries the kind of structure suggested by its spice, wood and vegetal accents, while the fruit keeps the profile from becoming purely forceful. With 600 bottles released and presented in a 1.5-litre format, this #3 has a distinctive place in the rum range at Drankenshop Broekmans.

Bally Art Deco N°3 Incl. Box

Bally Art Deco N°3 is a J. Bally rum from Martinique, made in the sugar cane juice style. That already places it in a different register from many sweeter rum styles: the emphasis here sits more on structure, vegetal character and spice than on simple roundness.
Maturation in bourbon barrel adds a clear wood influence, supported by a spicy edge and a noticeable cane-driven, vegetal side. Fruit, sweetness and a light floral touch play a more supporting role, giving detail without softening the rum too much. At 45%, it has enough strength to carry that profile with confidence.
In the rum selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would point out to someone looking for a Martinique rum with a firmer, more aromatic personality.

Saint James Single Cask 1997

Saint James Single Cask 1997 is an agricole rum from Martinique, distilled at Saint James in 1997. Its appeal lies in the fact that it comes from a single cask, giving a more individual view of the distillery than a broader blended release.
Made from sugar cane juice and distilled in a traditional column still, it matured in oak, specifically a bourbon barrel. That cask influence is an important part of the story here, bringing wood and spice into focus while still leaving room for fruit, gentle sweetness and a subtle vegetal note.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we like to present to customers who want to explore agricole rum with maturity and depth. The 1997 vintage, the single cask origin and the bourbon barrel maturation give it a (…)Mmw Wedderburn Blend 11y Tropical Aging (Velier And Scheer)

Mmw Wedderburn Blend 11y Tropical Aging is a Jamaican molasses rum, pot still distilled and bottled by Velier as part of Velier and Scheer. The name already sets the direction: an 11-year-old Wedderburn Blend shaped by tropical aging and presented in a very direct form.
Matured in a bourbon cask and bottled at cask strength, it carries a substantial 69.1% alcohol. This is a rum for tasting with attention, where the strength is part of the experience rather than something hidden in the background.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottles like this stand out because several serious rum cues come together in one release: Jamaica, pot still distillation, tropical maturation, high natural strength and the Velier name. Long Pond 2005 Cambridge is a Jamaican molasses rum bottled by Velier and drawn from the Simon Thomson Cambridge Estate category, known here as STCE. Its ester level of 550 to 700 grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol gives the rum a highly defined identity, with the expressive side of Long Pond very much at the centre.
Distilled in 2005 on a pot still, it spent 18 years maturing entirely in a tropical climate in bourbon barrels. That long maturation has not softened away its original force; instead, the early empyreumatic and medicinal elements have evolved into a broader aromatic register with exotic fruit, vanilla, powdery nuances and a retronasal touch of cacao.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as the kind of rum that deserves time in the glass. (…)Hampden 4y 2021 Dokms#3 1,5l (Velier)

The DOK mark is presented here as a full expression of Hampden's heavy pot still style: young, powerful and far from one-dimensional. At four years old, it still carries a vibrant edge, yet the supplied description points to a surprisingly balanced complexity beneath that force.
Distilled in 2021 and matured in a bourbon barrel, it is bottled at 60% alcohol. That strength gives the rum plenty of presence, but its personality is not only about impact. Spiced and vegetal tones shape the core, with fruit and gentle sweetness adding support around the edges.

Saint James 2010 12y Velier carries a clear sense of Martinique rum heritage. Its appeal lies in the depth that comes from maturation without losing the aromatic drive of agricole rum. Wood and spice are clearly present, supported by gentler touches of fruit, sweetness, floral notes and a light vegetal edge. Bally Art Deco N°1 is a special edition from J. Bally in Martinique, made as an agricole rum and distilled in a traditional column. The Art Deco name suits that position well, suggesting a cuvée shaped with attention to style as much as flavour.
Martinique is central to the story here. The rum carries the freshness of sugar cane, a touch of tropical fruit and a light vegetal note, all supported by maturation in American oak. That oak influence brings wood, gentle spice and a rounded sweetness, giving the agricole base more depth without taking away its origin-driven character.

Hampden Pagos 2024 is a Jamaican rum built around a very specific meeting point: Hampden Estate's expressive pot still spirit and sherry casks from Jerez. The name takes its inspiration from the Spanish word pagos, used for vineyard parcels in Jerez, and that reference is carried straight into the maturation. The rum was fully aged in Jamaica in 500-litre sherry butts from Bodegas Fundador.
Those casks had been used in the Solera system and previously held Oloroso, part of it up to 30 years old. Set against Hampden's HLCF mark and an ester level of 374.1 g/HLPA, the cask influence does not simply add richness; it meets a distillate with plenty of aromatic drive of its own.
