Waterford Lacken 1.1 Peated

On request only

Waterford Lacken 1.1 Peated brings a noticeably smoky side to Waterford's Irish single malt range. The brand has built its name around a wide spread of different bottlings, but this peated line speaks more directly to drinkers who enjoy peat as a central part of the whisky's identity. Lacken 1.1 sits at 57 ppm, following the likes of Fenniscourt 1.1 and Ballybannon 1.1, with Woodbrook 1.1 named as the even more heavily peated release.

The appeal here is that the peat is not treated as a small background detail. Bottled at 50% ABV, as stated for this series, Lacken 1.1 carries a firm, saline and smoky profile with enough energy to feel lively rather than heavy.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Irish single malt that naturally starts a conversation (…)

Bunnahabhain Staoisha 2014 5y Artist (Signatory - Artist Edition) Incl. Box

On request only

Bunnahabhain Staoisha 2014 5 Year Old Artist is a young Islay single malt with a firmly peated identity. Bottled by Signatory as part of the Artist Edition, it focuses on the bold, direct side of Staoisha: peat takes the lead, with a clearly salty and fruity edge giving the whisky its shape.

Maturation in refill bourbon cask keeps the wood influence in the background. Rather than leaning on oak, this release puts the spirit itself in front, showing a youthful, energetic style at full cask strength. At 61.2%, it is a powerful bottling with little interest in understatement.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of independent Islay release that stands out for its clarity and force. With only the last bottles remaining, this Signatory bottling has become (…)

Ardbeg Ardcore - Ardbeg Day 2022

In stock

Ardbeg Ardcore is an Islay single malt tied to Ardbeg Day 2022, and that gives it a different feel from a regular core-range bottle. It belongs to a particular moment in the Ardbeg calendar. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it stands out all the more because we are now down to the last bottles.

Bottled at 46% and released without an age statement, Ardcore is not presented around age as its main message. The supplied profile points instead to a clear Islay direction: peat smoke and a salty edge form the main impression, with lighter fruit, spice and floral elements in the background. Oak cask maturation is noted, but the profile does not place wood at the centre of the experience.

For anyone looking at specific Ardbeg releases, the Ardbeg Day 2022 connection is the (…)

Caol Ila 2010 10y (Campbeltown Whisky Company - Watt Whisky)

On request only

Caol Ila 2010 10y is a Scottish Islay single malt with a very focused identity: one hogshead, one distillation year, one bottling date and just 326 bottles. Distilled in 2010 and bottled in March 2021, this Watt Whisky release from the Campbeltown Whisky Company presents a single cask rather than a broad house-style vatting.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottlings like this stand out because they show a whisky in a particularly direct form. Bottled at cask strength at 58.2%, it keeps the energy of the cask intact. The profile points clearly towards Islay, with peat and salinity at the centre, supported by lighter fruity, spicy and floral touches rather than heavy wood influence.

With the last bottles now remaining, its limited nature is part of the appeal. It is (…)

Compass Box Artist #11 Pentalogy Fortitude (Artist Collection)

In stock

Compass Box Artist #11 Pentalogy Fortitude is a Scottish blended whisky from the Artist Collection, bottled at cask strength. At 52.5%, it presents itself with real firmness rather than a softened, lower-strength style.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle stands out because it belongs to a defined limited release rather than an ongoing expression. Only 1074 bottles were produced, and the available stock is now down to the last bottles, giving Pentalogy Fortitude a clear sense of scarcity within the Compass Box range.

The supplied flavour profile points towards a whisky shaped by saline and peated notes, with lighter fruity, spicy and floral accents around it. With no age statement, the focus remains on the composition, strength and character of this (…)

Pl4 Elements Of Islay 50cl (Speciality Drinks)

On request only

Pl4 Elements of Islay is a Port Charlotte single malt from the Limited Edition range by Elements of Islay. The series uses periodic-table-style symbols to identify individual Islay distilleries, followed by a batch number; in this case, Pl stands for Port Charlotte, within Bruichladdich. That gives the bottle a clear identity from the start: a focused Islay release rather than a broad house-style bottling.

These Elements of Islay editions are bottled either as single casks or as small batches drawn from a limited selection of casks, always with the individual distillery character in mind. Pl4 is bottled at cask strength, reaching 61.2%, and carries no age statement. The emphasis is therefore on the chosen batch, the Islay origin and the way this particular release presents (…)

Kilchoman Batch Strength Incl. Box

In stock

Kilchoman Batch Strength presents a more forceful side of Kilchoman, without making the whisky feel heavy-handed. When it was introduced, it quickly found favour with drinkers who wanted a regular Kilchoman release at a higher strength than the core bottlings. At 57%, the spirit has real presence, yet the emphasis remains on balance between power and flavour.

Maturation in a combination of re-charred red wine casks, oloroso sherry casks and bourbon barrels gives this Islay single malt both structure and a sweet centre. Kilchoman's natural peat smoke and citrus character form the foundation, with darker fruit, generous spice and salted caramel adding depth around it.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a particularly engaging choice for anyone exploring (…)

Islay Malt 8y (The Whisky Agency)

On request only

Islay Malt 8y tells a concise and appealing whisky story: a Scottish single malt from Islay, matured for eight years, drawn from one individual cask and bottled at cask strength. Its identity is shaped first of all by its island origin, with peat and salinity forming the clearest lines in the profile.

Distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2015, it came from a hogshead with a total outturn of 349 bottles. That places it far away from a broad standard release; it is a small snapshot of one cask at one moment in time. At Drankenshop Broekmans, whiskies like this are valued for exactly that reason: they let you explore a more specific side of Islay malt.

At 51.5% ABV, the whisky keeps its natural strength and directness. The flavour profile points to a peated, coastal (…)

Kilkerran Heavily Peat Batch 4

On request only

Kilkerran Heavily Peat Batch 4 is a Campbeltown single malt with a clear sense of direction: peat, strength and a distinctly salty edge. The name sets the expectation, yet the character is not built on smoke alone. Peat, spice, fruit and salinity all have a clear role, giving the whisky more shape than a one-dimensional heavily peated malt.

At 58.6% ABV and bottled at cask strength, Batch 4 keeps its forceful, undiluted presence. With no age statement, the emphasis sits firmly on style and impact rather than maturation age: a Kilkerran that puts intensity and distillate character in the foreground.

Within the selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, releases like this hold a particular interest, especially when only the last bottles remain. It is a whisky for (…)

Sea Shepherd Islay Single Malt

In stock

Sea Shepherd Islay Single Malt presents Islay in a direct and recognisable way, while keeping the precise distillery identity undisclosed. The focus is therefore less on a famous name and more on the island style itself: peat, coastal salinity and a distinctly maritime edge.

Maturation in bourbon casks gives the whisky a familiar framework, but the supplied profile points clearly towards smoke and salt as the main elements. Gentle fruity, spicy and floral touches sit in the background. Wood influence is not the point here; the emphasis remains on the Islay character rather than on heavy cask weight.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle fits well for customers looking for a Scottish Islay single malt with clear peat and a coastal feel, without an age (…)

Ardbeg 2013 8y Single Cask

In stock

Ardbeg 2013 8y Single Cask is a very focused Islay single malt: one cask, one maturation story and a limited outturn of 670 bottles. Distilled on 20 February 2013 and bottled on 9 September 2021, it captures Ardbeg at 8 years old through the lens of a single individual cask.

The whisky was matured in a Sherry Butt and bottled at cask strength, 60.9%, giving this release a direct and uncompromised presentation. Rather than blending several casks into a broader house style, this bottling keeps the attention on the specific cask from which it came.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottles like this are valued for their clear sense of origin and limited nature. The combination of single cask, cask strength, 670 bottles and the fact that these are the last bottles makes (…)

Akkeshi Blend Taisho Incl. Box

In stock

Akkeshi Blend Taisho is a Japanese blended whisky from Akkeshi's 24 Seasons series. As the eighth release in the range, it takes its inspiration from Taisho, the period of Great Heat from late July to early August, when summer reaches its most intense point.

The blend brings together grain whisky and peated Akkeshi malt, matured in bourbon and Mizunara casks. The Mizunara oak comes from the forests of Hokkaido, keeping the whisky closely tied to its northern Japanese setting. The indigo-blue label refers to the traditional colour of the summer Yukata, worn during festivals and firework evenings.

There is a strong sense of season behind this release: paulownia trees setting their first seeds, damp earth, humid air, occasional heavy rain, taiko flutes and (…)

Islay Mist Peated

In stock

Islay Mist Peated is a Scottish blended whisky with peat placed clearly at the centre of its identity. The name is quite direct, and so is the style: a smoky blend supported by lighter fruity, spicy, floral and salty touches.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would place this among the whiskies for drinkers looking for a peated Scottish blend rather than a whisky defined by age or heavy oak. No age statement is given, so the focus sits firmly on the flavour direction: approachable in strength, but unmistakably shaped by peat.

Bottled at 40%, Islay Mist Peated keeps to a classic drinking strength. Its character is not driven by pronounced wood influence, but by a peat-led profile with a few subtler layers around it.

Lagg Inaugural Release 3

In stock

Lagg Inaugural Release 3 belongs to the early story of Lagg on the Isle of Arran. This Scottish single malt was distilled in 2019 and bottled at 50%, with a Wine Finish giving this release its own place within the distillery's first wave of bottlings.

The release was limited to 10,000 bottles, and with the last bottles now in focus it has a particular relevance at Drankenshop Broekmans. We see it as a snapshot from the formative years of Lagg: young, clearly defined and already showing a firm sense of direction.

Its flavour profile points to a whisky where fruit and peat carry the main impression, supported by lighter floral, woody, spicy and slightly salty accents. The 50% strength adds presence, making this a single malt with a more pronounced stance rather (…)

Laphroaig Elements L1.0 Incl. Box

In stock

Laphroaig Elements L1.0 is a Scottish single malt from Islay with the emphasis firmly on the side of peat and salinity. At 58.6% alcohol, it is a robust release rather than a gentle introduction, carrying its Islay identity with real presence.

Maturation in a bourbon barrel gives the whisky its setting, yet the supplied flavour profile does not put wood at the centre. The impression is driven more by peat smoke and coastal saltiness, with lighter touches of fruit and spice in support. As a no-age-statement bottling, it draws attention to style, strength and expression rather than maturation age.

For Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Laphroaig that speaks clearly to drinkers who appreciate a more pronounced Islay character. With only the last bottles (…)

Port Charlotte Syc:01 2013 10y

In stock

Port Charlotte Syc:01 2013 10y is a Scottish single malt from Islay with a clearly coastal, peated identity. Distilled in 2013, aged for ten years and bottled at 54.4%, it comes across as a whisky with real presence and a firm sense of place.

The use of bourbon and wine casks gives the maturation its framework, yet the main character remains centred on peat and salinity. Fruit and spice are part of the picture, but they sit in a supporting role rather than taking over the style.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a fitting choice for drinkers looking for the stronger side of Islay: smoke, maritime tension and enough structure to keep the whisky focused.

The flavour profile is led by clear peat smoke and a pronounced salty edge. Lighter (…)

Ardmore 2008 9y (Berry Bros - Berry's Own Selection)

On request only

Ardmore 2008 9y is a Highland single malt with a very clear sense of origin. Distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2018, it comes from a single refill barrel and was released by Berry Bros as part of Berry's Own Selection. Rather than presenting a broad house style, this bottling focuses on the personality of one individual cask.

Its cask strength of 54.6% gives the whisky a direct, concentrated feel. At the same time, the refill barrel suggests a restrained wood influence, allowing the peated Highland character and lighter supporting notes to remain at the centre.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of independent Scottish single malt we like for its clear cask identity and unpolished presentation. With only the last bottles remaining, it has become a more (…)

Ian Macleod's As We Get It Islay Cask Strength

In stock

Ian Macleod's As We Get It Islay Cask Strength is a direct, full-powered take on Islay single malt: peated, non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength. Rather than leaning on an age statement, it puts the focus on the whisky as it comes from the cask.

At 60.4% ABV, this is a whisky with real weight behind it. The label's reference to the old British 107 proof measure suits the style well, underlining the robust nature of the bottling. Its Islay origin comes through in the smoky, peaty side of the whisky, supported by a clear salty edge.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would introduce to someone who enjoys Islay whisky in a more concentrated and less polished form. A drop or two of water is well worth considering, not to dilute the (…)

Lp11 Elements Of Islay is a focused Islay single malt built around Laphroaig, bottled at 52.2% and drawn from a bourbon barrel. The coded Elements Of Islay presentation gives it a more direct, individual feel than a regular core-range release.

Distilled in 2005 and matured for 15 years, this bottling was released in a run of 496 bottles. With the last bottles now remaining, its appeal lies in that sense of a narrowly defined snapshot: one distillery, one style of cask influence, and a clearly Islay-driven personality.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would place this among the more expressive island malts in the selection. Peat and coastal salinity carry the conversation, with lighter fruit and spice sitting behind them rather than taking over.

Big Peat Feis Isle 2025 No Giftbox (Douglas Laing Regional Malts)

Only 2 left in stock!

Big Peat Feis Isle 2025 is a special Douglas Laing release created in honour of the annual Feis Isle festival on Islay. In the Big Peat range, this edition leans strongly into the island's identity: a blended malt made from Islay malts, with a profile built around peat smoke, sea air and a distinctly maritime feel.

The 2025 release is shaped by its 2010 vintage and maturation in refill hogshead casks. In this case, the cask choice is about preserving aromatic purity and intensity rather than pushing heavy oak to the front. That allows the smoky, salty side of the whisky to remain central, while gentle wood, spice and fruit notes sit in support.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a whisky for drinkers who enjoy Islay when it speaks with a coastal, smoky (…)

Caol Ila 2013 7y Artist (Signatory - Artist Edition) Incl. Box

Caol Ila 2013 7y Artist is a young Islay single malt with a very direct personality. Bottled by Signatory for the Artist Edition, it brings together Caol Ila's peated island style, wine maturation and a cask strength bottling at 57.2%.

At 7 years old, the emphasis is on energy and clarity rather than heavy oak maturity. The profile points to peat as the main feature, with lighter touches of fruit, spice, florality and coastal saltiness around it. The wine cask maturation adds another dimension, while the wood itself does not appear to dominate the whisky's character.

In the selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle that speaks to drinkers who enjoy independent Islay releases with a more pronounced edge. With the last bottles now (…)
