Old Ballantruan Tube Incl.

Old Ballantruan shows a smokier side of Speyside. The product information places it against the region's floral, fruity and creamy traits, then adds heavily peated barley to bring in a clear campfire-like smoke. It remains a Speyside single malt, but one with a firmer, peat-driven voice.
Made with water from the Ballantruan Spring, it is matured in American oak bourbon casks and bottled at 50% vol. without chill filtration. That strength suits the whisky well, giving the smoke, malt and peat enough weight to come through with clarity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, Old Ballantruan stands out because it takes Speyside in a less expected direction. Rather than leaning only on softness and fruit, it brings smoke and peat into the conversation while keeping a (…)Benriach Smoky 10 Mini

Benriach Smoky 10 Mini

Benriach Smoky 10 Mini shows the smoky side of Speyside in a compact format. This 10-year-old single malt places peat smoke at the centre, with lighter fruity and spicy notes supporting the overall impression.
The mini size makes it a practical way to explore this expression, while the 46% strength and oak cask maturation give it enough presence to be taken seriously as a tasting dram.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like for customers who want to discover a smoky single malt without immediately choosing a full-size bottle. More information about the distillery can be found at https://www.benriachdistillery.co.uk/

Old Ballantruan 15y shows Speyside from a distinctly smoky angle. The peat is clearly present, yet the 15 years of maturation give it enough depth and softness to feel integrated rather than blunt.
It has been matured exclusively in American oak bourbon casks, a choice that supports its sweet touch and warm spice while keeping the smoky core in focus. Bottled at 50% ABV and non chill filtered, it keeps a full and natural feel in the glass.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of single malt we like to introduce when someone wants Speyside with more smoke, weight and warmth. Old Ballantruan 15y brings together richness, gentle sweetness and a long smoky finish in a confident but elegant style.

Highland Park Dragon Legends is a single malt from Orkney with a name that immediately gives it a sense of atmosphere. As a no age statement whisky, it is less about a number on the label and more about a particular style: a Scottish island malt where peat is clearly part of the experience, supported by lighter fruity and spicy notes.
The use of sherry and bourbon casks gives this Highland Park a layered foundation without taking the focus away from its smoky side. The peat stands out, yet the whisky is not built on smoke alone. Fruit and spice sit in a supporting role, adding shape to the overall profile.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, Dragon Legends fits naturally among Highland Park releases for drinkers who want an Orkney single malt with a distinct peated (…)Stauning Peated 7th Edition 50cl

Stauning Peated 7th Edition is a Danish single malt with the peated side of Stauning placed firmly at the centre. Distilled in 2012, matured for 6 years in oak cask and bottled at 48.4%, it carries a little more presence than a whisky released at a more standard strength.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle stands out through its combination of origin and style: a peated single malt from Denmark, presented in a 50cl bottle, as part of a clearly defined edition. The 7th Edition name gives it its own place in the series, while the last-bottles indication tells us this release is becoming increasingly scarce in our selection.
The flavour profile points first to peat, with lighter spice and fruit in support. Rather than leaning on strong wood influence, this (…)Old Ballantruan 10y Tube Incl.

Old Ballantruan 10y is a Speyside single malt with a distinctly peated side. It keeps a creamy, malty sweetness at its centre, while the peat smoke adds depth and a firmer edge to the whisky.
Matured for 10 years in carefully selected bourbon casks, it is bottled at 50% vol. and without chill filtration. That gives the whisky enough weight to carry its smoky character without losing the softer malt-driven core. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like to point out when someone wants a Scottish single malt with clear smoke, but still with roundness and sweetness underneath.
The appeal of Old Ballantruan 10y lies in that contrast: creamy malt, gentle spice and a deep, lingering peat note.

Its character is built around peat, supported by a lighter salty edge and a modest fruity note. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a whisky for drinkers who want the Islay signature to be present and recognisable, without turning the description into unnecessary embellishment.
The 12-year age statement gives the whisky a clear sense of place and maturity. What matters here is the straightforward combination of single malt structure, Islay origin and a smoke-led profile.

Fary Lochan 2014 is a Danish single malt with a very direct way of presenting itself. Bottled by Berry Bros as part of the Nordic Casks series, it comes at cask strength, carrying 60.9% alcohol. Rather than smoothing everything down, this release keeps the focus on intensity and on the individual cask behind the whisky.
The whisky was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2021 from a single hogshead, with only 243 bottles drawn from that cask. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottling that stands out for drinkers who enjoy whisky with a clear origin and a narrowly defined identity: one cask, one limited release, one particular expression of Fary Lochan.

Caol Ila 18y is a Scottish single malt from Islay where peat and maturity meet in a restrained, grown-up way. The Islay identity is clearly part of the whisky, yet the 18 years of ageing give it a calmer and more developed presence than a purely forceful peated style.
Matured in oak cask and bottled at 43%, it sits in a classic strength range while keeping the focus on its island character. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Caol Ila we would point to when someone wants a peated Islay single malt with a little more age, supported by gentle fruit, light spice and a salty accent.

It carries no age statement and is bottled at 40%, keeping the focus on a clear, approachable style rather than on maturation detail.

Maturation in charred casks gives the whisky a firm setting for its peated character. The smoke is the main feature, supported by lighter salty, spicy and fruity touches that add detail without pulling the whisky away from its core.

Distilled in 2009 and bottled in July 2022, it spent 13 years developing as a single cask whisky rather than as part of a broader batch.
Its appeal lies in that directness. Douglas Laing is a respected independent bottler, and this series adds a playful sense of humour to bottles that are very much made for tasting and discussing.
Here the focus is firmly on Islay. Big Peat is made from single malts sourced only from the island, including Ardbeg, Bowmore and even Port Ellen.
