Blanc de Chasse-Spleen 2021 is a white Bordeaux from Château Chasse-Spleen in Moulis-en-Médoc. That already makes it a wine with a slightly different angle: the Médoc is far better known for red wines, while white crus from this area remain relatively uncommon.
The 2021 blend brings together sémillon, sauvignon blanc and muscadelle from the estate's white vineyards. These vines cover 4 hectares on sandy-clay soils, with an average vine age of 25 years. Château Chasse-Spleen first planted white varieties in the 1990s, and Blanc de Chasse-Spleen has been commercially released since 1995.

Blanc de Chasse-Spleen 2022 is the dry white wine from Château Chasse-Spleen in Moulis-en-Médoc, Bordeaux. Although it comes from the Médoc, it is released as AOC Bordeaux Blanc, as white wines from this area do not fall under a Médoc appellation.
The 2022 blend is 50% Sémillon, 40% Sauvignon blanc and 10% Muscadelle, sourced from a small 3.5-hectare white planting on sandy-clay soils. That gives the wine a very Bordeaux-like balance of freshness, tension and gentle roundness, with Sémillon bringing texture and Sauvignon blanc keeping the profile lively.
Fermentation took place in concrete vats and barriques, followed by 9 months of ageing with a portion of new and one-year-old barrels. The oak presence is described as (…)
