Mandrarossa Cartagho 2020 is a Sicilian red wine built around Nero d'Avola, sourced from the area around Menfi on the island's south-western coast. The vineyards are planted on limestone-rich and sandy soils, and the wine carries the Sicilia DOC / Doc Sicilia Rosso designation. Within Mandrarossa's own range, Cartagho has a special role: it was the producer's first barrique-aged Nero d'Avola.
The name refers to Sicily's Carthaginian past, with the h in Cartagho chosen deliberately by Mandrarossa. Production began in 2004, based on a selection of the best 15 hectares of Nero d'Avola across three vineyards. The grapes are harvested in the first week of September, followed by 8 to 10 days of maceration and fermentation, then 12 months in barriques and a further 4 months in (…)Mandrarossa Cartagho 2022 Magnum (1,5l) Incl. Mandrarossa Cartagho 2022 Magnum is a distinctly Sicilian red built around Nero d'Avola. It belongs to Mandrarossa's Cartagho cuvée and is made from 100% Nero d'Avola grown around Menfi, on Sicily's south-western coast. The selected vineyards face south-west and are planted on limestone-rich, sandy soils.
Cartagho has an important place in the Mandrarossa range. The cuvée was introduced in 2004 as a barrique-aged Nero d'Avola, drawn from a selection of 15 hectares spread across three vineyards. Its name refers to the historic Carthaginian presence along the Sicilian coast and to Mandrarossa's connection with Selinunte and Menfi.
The wine macerates and ferments for 8 to 10 days before ageing for 12 months in barriques, followed by 4 months in (…)Mandrarossa Fiano 2024

Mandrarossa Fiano 2024

Mandrarossa Fiano 2024 is an organic Sicilian white wine with a distinctly Mediterranean feel. Made from 100% Fiano and released as Fiano Terre Siciliane IGT Biologico, it comes from the Menfi area, where Mandrarossa gives this southern Italian grape variety a fresh, aromatic expression.
The vineyards are situated around Menfi on south and south-east facing slopes, roughly 150 to 350 metres above sea level. The producer highlights the role of the sea breeze, and that idea runs through the wine's style: dry, fresh, herbal and saline, rather than oak-driven or creamy.
Winemaking is kept clean and focused. The grapes undergo a short cold maceration, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation, and the wine then matures for four months in stainless steel (…)Mandrarossa Grillo 2025

Mandrarossa Grillo 2025

Mandrarossa Grillo 2025 is a dry Sicilian white wine with a clear sense of place. It comes from the area around Menfi in south-western Sicily and is made entirely from Grillo, a white grape variety closely associated with the island. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a wine for people who enjoy a bright Italian white with Mediterranean freshness rather than oak-driven richness.
The grapes come from south and south-east facing vineyards on sandy and limestone soils, planted at roughly 80 to 250 metres above sea level. Mandrarossa keeps the winemaking focused on purity: a short cold maceration, fermentation in stainless steel and four months of maturation in stainless steel tanks. No oak influence is mentioned, so the wine stays clean, aromatic and driven by citrus, (…)Mandrarossa Nero D'Avola 2024

Mandrarossa Nero D'Avola 2024
In stock
Mandrarossa Nero D'Avola 2024 is a red Sicilian wine built around a clear expression of Nero d'Avola, one of Sicily's native red grapes. It comes from organically farmed vineyards near Menfi, planted on south and south-west facing hillsides, and the style stays focused on the grape rather than on oak.
Fermentation and ageing in stainless steel keep the wine fruit-led and approachable, with black cherry, plum and red mulberry at the centre of its character. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Sicilian red we like to present when someone is looking for a biological Nero d'Avola with softness, fruit and enough structure for the table.
The producer suggests serving it with charcuterie, cheeses, pasta with ragù or beef tagliata. Those pairings (…)Mandrarossa Sentiero Delle Gerle Red 2019

Mandrarossa Sentiero Delle Gerle Red 2019

Mandrarossa Sentiero Delle Gerle Rood 2019 is a Sicilian red wine from Etna Rosso DOC, made from Nerello Mascalese grown on the south-eastern slope of Mount Etna. Its origin is central to the wine: volcanic soils, an indigenous grape variety and a producer that places this cuvée within its Storie Ritrovate range, dedicated to specific Sicilian origins and native varieties.
The winemaking is measured rather than showy. Maceration and fermentation last around 10 to 12 days at controlled temperature, after which the wine is separated from the skins without pressing. It then matures for 10 to 12 months in large 50 hl French oak casks, a form of ageing that supports structure and development without suggesting a dominant small-barrel style.

Mandrarossa Sera Passito 2020 is a sweet white wine from Italy, made on Pantelleria, the island near Sicily. It is produced from Zibibbo, also known as Moscato d'Alessandria, and belongs to Mandrarossa's Storie Ritrovate range.
Its character is closely tied to the island. The grapes are sourced from different areas of Pantelleria, including Bukkurham, Monastero and Piana di Ghirlanda, where the soils are described as sandy and volcanic in origin. After hand harvesting in small crates, part of the crop is dried for around 20 to 22 days, then added to fermenting must from fresh grapes.
Mandrarossa keeps the élevage clean and focused: fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by maturation in steel silos and further bottle ageing. There is no (…)Mandrarossa Timperosse 2021

Mandrarossa Timperosse 2021

Mandrarossa Timperosse 2021 shows a less obvious side of Sicilian red wine. It comes from Menfi in southern Sicily and is made entirely from Petit Verdot, a grape that stands out within the local landscape. That is exactly the idea behind Mandrarossa's Innovativi range: familiar Sicilian origins, approached through less conventional varieties.
The grapes are grown on south-facing hillside vineyards around Menfi, on calcareous and sandy soils at roughly 100 to 250 metres above sea level. Fermentation is short and temperature-controlled, followed by four months in stainless steel. With no oak ageing mentioned, the focus stays on fruit, freshness and a direct expression of the grape.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a Sicilian red with plenty of flavour (…)
