Very last one in stock!
Chateau Leoville Poyferre 2020 is the grand vin of this Saint-Julien estate in the Médoc, a red Bordeaux with Deuxième Grand Cru Classé status in the 1855 classification. The 2020 vintage also carries a special marker: it was released in a black bottle with gold detailing to celebrate one hundred years of ownership by the Cuvelier family.
Cabernet Sauvignon forms the backbone of the blend, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot adding their parts. The style described for this vintage is dry, powerful and structured, built around ripe dark fruit and firm yet refined tannins. The estate worked parcel by parcel and grape variety by grape variety, using double sorting and gentle vinification to handle that structure with precision.

Château Léoville Poyferré 2020 in magnum is a Saint-Julien with real stature. This is the estate's grand vin, a red Bordeaux from the Médoc, and the 2020 vintage carries added meaning for the château: it marks one hundred years of Cuvelier family ownership. The special bottle with golden details refers to that anniversary and to the estate's vineyard parcels.
The blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, with merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot completing the picture. In this vintage, the Merlot from Bolitorte is noted for its ripe, generous character, while the Cabernet Sauvignon from Gaunettes, closer to the Gironde estuary, brings finesse and elegance. That contrast gives the wine its Saint-Julien identity: structure, depth and a measured (…)Chateau Leoville Poyferre 2021 Demi (37,5cl)

Château Léoville Poyferré 2021 Demi is the 37.5 cl half-bottle version of the estate's grand vin from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. As a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, it sits firmly in the classical Bordeaux tradition: structured, detailed and built around depth rather than immediate softness.
The estate describes 2021 as a cooler, more classical Bordeaux vintage than the three years before it. After a demanding growing season, picking took place from 28 September to 12 October, once the fruit had reached the desired maturity. The blend is led by cabernet sauvignon, supported by merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot, a composition that helps explain the wine's firm Saint-Julien backbone.
