Whispering Angel 2023 is a dry rosé from Provence, made in the Côtes de Provence AOC by Caves d'Esclans, the producer connected with Château d'Esclans. It is the best-known cuvée in the producer's range, and its identity is very clear: pale in colour, fresh in expression and shaped around the clean, fruit-driven style that has made Provençal rosé so recognisable.
Grenache forms the heart of the blend, supported by Cinsault, Syrah, Rolle and Carignan. The winemaking is built around freshness rather than oak influence. Grapes are harvested at night, carefully selected and handled at low temperature, with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Whispering Angel 2023 in 12 litres is the familiar Côtes de Provence rosé in an impressive Balthazar format. It is not a separate cuvée, but the large bottle changes the way the wine is experienced: generous, convivial and made for a table where rosé is shared rather than simply poured.
Produced by Caves d'Esclans / Château d'Esclans, associated with Sacha Lichine, this 2023 vintage comes from selected vineyards in and around the Esclans valley and nearby parts of the Côtes de Provence. The reported blend is led by Grenache, with Cinsault, Syrah, Rolle/Vermentino and Carignan adding to the Provençal profile.

Whispering Angel 2023 Magnum brings the pale, dry rosé style of Côtes de Provence into a generous 1.5 litre bottle. Produced by Caves d'Esclans, associated with Château d'Esclans and Sacha Lichine, it is made from grapes grown around La Motte and the wider Côtes de Provence area, with particular reference to the Esclans valley.
For the 2023 vintage, the blend is led by Grenache with Cinsault, Syrah, Rolle and Carignan. The winemaking is focused on keeping the wine clean and fresh: cool handling of the grapes, separate vinification of free-run and pressed juice, temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and no oak ageing. It is not a separate cuvée from the regular Whispering Angel 2024, but the larger bottle changes the setting completely: this is rosé made to be shared at a generous table, a reception or a relaxed summer gathering.
The wine comes from Côtes de Provence and is produced by Caves d'Esclans / Château d'Esclans, linked to Sacha Lichine. For the 2024 vintage, Grenache and Cinsault form an important part of the blend, complemented by local varieties. Whispering Angel 2025 is a dry rosé from Provence, made under the Côtes de Provence AOP. It comes from Château d'Esclans / Caves d'Esclans, with Sacha Lichine at the helm after acquiring the estate in 2006. The 2025 release carries an extra note of context, as the producer presents it as the twentieth vintage of Whispering Angel.
The wine sits firmly in the pale, dry Provence style: fresh, polished and centred on fruit rather than weight. The blend is built mainly around Grenache, Cinsault and Vermentino, with Syrah also mentioned. Grapes are sourced from selected plots around La Motte-en-Provence and harvested from sunrise to midday, followed by optical sorting and cool handling to help preserve clarity and freshness.
