Chateau Croix De Labrie 2019 is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru from Bordeaux's Right Bank, built around a dominant share of Merlot with a small addition of Cabernet Sauvignon. It is the estate's first wine and comes from a small Saint-Emilion property known here through a concentrated, carefully worked 2019 vintage.
The interest lies in the detail behind the wine. The fruit comes from parcels in and around Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes and below the Côte Pavie, with clay, limestone, sandy clay and iron-rich clay soils all mentioned for this vintage. Vineyard work is described as organically and biodynamically oriented, while vinification follows a parcel-by-parcel approach.

Château Croix de Labrie 2019 in magnum is a red dry wine from Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, presented in a 1.5-litre bottle. This is the estate's grand vin, not a second wine, and the 2019 vintage clearly sits in the more concentrated, carefully crafted side of Bordeaux.
The estate is a small property in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, run by Axelle and Pierre Courdurié. For this vintage, the blend is led almost entirely by Merlot, with a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit comes from parcels in Saint-Émilion, including sites around Badon, below the slope of Pavie and on the heights of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes. Château Croix de Labrie 2020 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, made by a small estate that works parcel by parcel. The 2020 blend is led by merlot, with cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon playing supporting roles, and the fruit comes from small plots including Badon, Le Cateau and vineyards near Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes.
This vintage brings together ripe concentration and freshness. The grapes were hand-harvested in small crates and carefully sorted before parcel-by-parcel vinification in small temperature-controlled vats. Part of the fruit was fermented in open tonneaux, followed by at least 18 months of ageing in French oak, described for 2020 as new oak.

The fruit comes from plots including Badon, at the foot of the côte Pavie, and higher parcels in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes.
