Chateau De Carlmagnus 2020 is a red Fronsac from Bordeaux, firmly in the Right Bank style, led by merlot with cabernet franc playing a supporting role. The 2020 vintage is also presented as Imagine, with a label painted by the owner. That personal touch sits well with the way the wine is made. The grapes are selected and vinified without crushing to help preserve the fruit, followed by 12 to 14 months of ageing in barriques with a proportion of new oak.

Château de Carlmagnus 2021 is a dry red wine from Fronsac on Bordeaux's Right Bank. It is led by Merlot with Cabernet Franc in support, grown on the clay-limestone soils and limestone plateaus associated with the estate.
The wine comes from Arnaud Roux-Oulié, the third generation of the Roux-Oulié winegrowing family and also an artist. That personal side is reflected in the 2021 Tokyo vintage labelling mentioned for this release. The name Carlmagnus refers to Charlemagne and his historical presence around Fronsac, while the wine itself remains firmly rooted in its appellation: structured, fruit-driven and shaped by its Bordeaux origin.

The 2022 vintage also has a distinctive presentation: the License to Taste label, created to mark the 60th anniversary of the first James Bond film. Château Carlmagnus gives each vintage its own illustrated theme, so this release combines classic Fronsac substance with a playful visual identity.

The wine comes from around 15 hectares of vineyard on clay-limestone soils over a limestone plateau, giving context to its dry, structured style.
The 2022 vintage was made with strict grape selection and gentle extraction, with vinification in wooden vats without crushing to help preserve the fruit. Maturation involved wooden vats, cement tanks and one-year-old barriques, aiming to keep the fruit and mineral expression of the terroir in focus.
