Château Pape Clément Rouge 2019 is a red Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan with a remarkable historical background. The estate's name refers to Bertrand de Goth, Archbishop of Bordeaux, who became Pope Clement V in 1305. Classified as a Grand Cru Classé de Graves, this grand vin rouge is built mainly around Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.The 2019 vintage brings together ripeness and freshness in a way that suits the style of the wine. A wet spring was followed by warm, sunny conditions, while late-September rain helped refine tannin maturity in the Cabernet Sauvignon and preserve energy in the wine. The grapes were hand-harvested in small crates, carefully sorted, moved by gravity into wooden vats and then matured in French oak, largely in barriques with part of the ageing in foudres.

Château Pape Clément is a historic French wine producer located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation in the Bordeaux region. The winery is named after Bertrand de Goth, who later became Pope Clément V, and it can be verified that he owned the vineyard in the early 14th century. Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest continuously operating wine estates in Bordeaux, with a history spanning more than seven centuries and a strong connection to the development of high-quality wines in the Graves. Today, the estate covers about 60 hectares, planted with typical Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and to a lesser extent Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot for the red wines, as well as Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc for the white wines. In the course of the 20th century, Château Pape Clément underwent extensive renovation; since 1980 it has been managed by Bernard Magrez, a well-known name in the French wine world. The wines are known for their rich structure and complexity, with a pronounced aging potential. Thanks to a combination of historical significance and a consistent focus on quality, Château Pape Clément is highly valued by wine enthusiasts worldwide.
