Château Quintus 2019 Demi is the half-bottle format of the grand vin from Château Quintus in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. The 37.5 cl size does not indicate a different cuvée; it is the same Château Quintus 2019, simply in a more flexible bottle for occasions when a full bottle of Bordeaux is more than you need. At Drankenshop Broekmans, that makes it a particularly appealing format for a serious Saint-Émilion.The 2019 blend is 55.4% Merlot and 44.6% Cabernet Franc. Merlot brings ripe fruit and volume, while the substantial share of Cabernet Franc adds structure, spice and freshness. The wine is drawn from a mosaic of estate parcels with limestone, clay and clay-limestone soils, set on a limestone promontory in Saint-Émilion.
The vintage itself had plenty of contrast: a mild, dry winter, a cool spring, summer heatwaves, then helpful rain and cooler nights to support ripening and colour development. Harvest took place between 19 September and 9 October. Maturation included 38.2% new oak, and the wine was bottled in April 2021.
Château Quintus positions this 2019 as a wine for cellaring, and the vintage was very well received by international critics. In half-bottle, it offers a thoughtful way to enjoy the depth of this vintage on a smaller scale, especially as availability is now limited.

About CH QUINTUS
Ch Quintus is a winery from France that is part of the renowned Saint-Émilion region in Bordeaux. The winery was added to the portfolio of Domaines Clarence Dillon in 2011, which is also the owner of the prestigious Château Haut-Brion and Château La Mission Haut-Brion. Ch Quintus was created from the merger of two former estates: Château Tertre Daugay and Château L´Arrosée, after which a third vineyard, Château Grand-Pontet, was later added to the estate. This merger resulted in a vineyard of approximately 45 hectares on a selection of limestone plateaus and slopes, typical of Saint-Émilion. The wine production focuses mainly on blends of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, characteristic for the region, with attention to precision and expression of the terroir. Ch Quintus aims to showcase the unique character of each vintage and the special microclimate of their vineyards in their wines. With limited editions and a modern approach, combined with respect for tradition, Ch Quintus offers a contemporary perspective on what the Saint-Émilion terroirs have to offer.
