Château Quintus 2019 is the estate's grand vin from Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, made with merlot noir and cabernet franc in a vintage where cabernet franc clearly has an important voice beside the fuller merlot. The vineyards sit on a limestone promontory with plateau and slopes of varied exposure, giving the estate a range of microclimates to work with and placing the wine firmly in the character of Bordeaux's Right Bank.
The 2019 season brought a dry, warm summer, welcome rain at the end of July and cooler nights in August, followed by favourable conditions in September. Harvest ran from 19 September to 9 October. The 37.5 cl size does not indicate a different cuvée; it is the same Château Quintus 2019, simply in a more flexible bottle for occasions when a full bottle of Bordeaux is more than you need. The 2019 blend is 55.4% Merlot and 44.6% Cabernet Franc. Merlot brings ripe fruit and volume, while the substantial share of Cabernet Franc adds structure, spice and freshness. The 2019 blend is made from 55.4% merlot and 44.6% cabernet franc. The 2020 growing season shaped the wine clearly. A mild, wet winter led to an early start in the vineyard, followed by a very warm and dry summer with several heatwaves. Rain in August helped the grapes continue ripening, while the estate limited leaf removal to protect the bunches and preserve aromatic freshness.

The 2022 vintage is an important one for the estate. Harvest took place from 7 to 28 September, the earliest since the property was established in 2011. In a warm, dry year, the clay-limestone soils helped retain freshness, and the estate worked with careful selection within individual parcels before assembling the final wine through blind tasting.

The 2020 vintage was shaped by contrasts: a mild, wet winter, an early start to the growing season and then a hot, dry summer with several heatwaves. Château Quintus adjusted its vineyard work to protect the bunches and preserve aromatic freshness. The blend is strongly Merlot-led, supported by Cabernet Franc, giving the wine its ripe fruit expression, supple opening and firm underlying structure.
