Château Quintus 2020 is the estate's grand vin from Saint-Émilion, built around Merlot with a significant share of Cabernet Franc. In this vintage, the Cabernet Franc is not just part of the blend; the château highlights its role in giving the wine structure and freshness.The 2020 growing season shaped the wine clearly. A mild, wet winter led to an early start in the vineyard, followed by a very warm and dry summer with several heatwaves. Rain in August helped the grapes continue ripening, while the estate limited leaf removal to protect the bunches and preserve aromatic freshness.
Quintus sits on a limestone rise near Saint-Émilion, with a varied mix of limestone, clay and clay-limestone soils. The wine was matured partly in new barriques, adding depth to a vintage already marked by ripe fruit, concentration and firm tannic presence.

About CH QUINTUS
Ch Quintus is a winery from France that is part of the renowned Saint-Émilion region in Bordeaux. The winery was added to the portfolio of Domaines Clarence Dillon in 2011, which is also the owner of the prestigious Château Haut-Brion and Château La Mission Haut-Brion. Ch Quintus was created from the merger of two former estates: Château Tertre Daugay and Château L´Arrosée, after which a third vineyard, Château Grand-Pontet, was later added to the estate. This merger resulted in a vineyard of approximately 45 hectares on a selection of limestone plateaus and slopes, typical of Saint-Émilion. The wine production focuses mainly on blends of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, characteristic for the region, with attention to precision and expression of the terroir. Ch Quintus aims to showcase the unique character of each vintage and the special microclimate of their vineyards in their wines. With limited editions and a modern approach, combined with respect for tradition, Ch Quintus offers a contemporary perspective on what the Saint-Émilion terroirs have to offer.
