Product info about Vina Almaviva 2019
Vina Almaviva 2019 is a dry red wine from Puente Alto in Chile's Maipo Valley and represents the main Almaviva wine, not the second wine Epu. It comes from the Franco-Chilean partnership between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Viña Concha y Toro, combining a Bordeaux-inspired approach with a distinctly Chilean setting.Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, supported by a significant share of Carménère, together with Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot. That mix gives the wine a classical structure while keeping a clear link to Chile, especially through the Carménère component.
The 2019 vintage was warm and dry in Puente Alto. According to Almaviva, the smaller berries brought strong colour and flavour concentration, while the vineyards at around 650 metres altitude benefit from cool Andean winds and noticeable day-night temperature differences. The wine matured for 18 months in new French oak barrels, adding depth around its already concentrated fruit.
