Chateau Petit Village 2020 is the grand vin of Chateau Petit Village in Pomerol, Bordeaux. This is the estate's main wine rather than its second wine, drawn from the Pomerol plateau, where deep gravel and clay soils underpin a red wine with concentration and firm structure.The 2020 vintage stands out for its blend: 60% merlot, 32% cabernet franc and 8% cabernet sauvignon. For this estate, that is an unusually high cabernet component, giving the wine a more structured and layered personality while keeping it firmly within the Pomerol style.
Selection was carried out rigorously, parcel by parcel, with careful sorting before vinification in small temperature-controlled concrete vats. The wine then matured for 16 months, including 50% new oak and a small portion in amphora. It is also a significant year for the estate, marking the start of conversion to organic farming and the arrival of the Moulin family.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Pomerol we place among Bordeaux wines with real cellar interest: powerful, detailed and made with time in mind. It has been strongly recognised, including 97 points from Jeb Dunnuck and two stars in Guide Hachette 2024, where it was described as a vin remarquable.
