Château d'Issan 2021 Magnum is the grand vin of this historic Margaux-Cantenac estate. It is a dry red Bordeaux from the Margaux appellation, classified as a Troisième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. In magnum format, the wine carries the same identity, but with the added presence that a 1.5-litre bottle brings to the table or cellar.The wine comes from old vines in the walled heart of the estate, at the centre of Margaux. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the 2021 blend, supported by Merlot and small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The presence of all five classic red Bordeaux varieties gives this vintage a distinctly classical Bordeaux frame.
For Château d'Issan, 2021 is described through freshness, precision and elegance. The estate's parcels avoided damage from the spring frost, and cool harvest mornings helped preserve vitality in the grapes. Parcel-by-parcel vinification in a gravity-fed cellar was followed by maturation in French oak barrels, with a portion of new oak.

About CH D'ISSAN
Ch D'Issan is a historic winery from the famous Bordeaux region in France and is part of the Margaux appellation. The chateau is especially known for its red wines, which are usually composed of classic Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The history of the estate dates back to the 12th century, but Ch D'Issan gained its current reputation mainly from the 19th century onwards, partly due to its classification as Troisième Cru, or third growth status, in the famous Bordeaux classification of 1855. The vineyards are situated on gravelly soils near the river Gironde, which contributes to the characteristic style of the wines: elegant, balanced and with fine ageing potential. The production is traditional with great attention to terroir and selection of the grapes. In addition to the Grand Vin, a second wine is also produced, often more accessible at a younger age. Ch D'Issan is widely praised for its refined aromas, a harmonious structure and its ability to age beautifully in the cellar. The chateau itself is a remarkable monument, surrounded by moats, which adds to the unique appearance of this Margaux estate.
