Blason D'Issan 2019

Blason d'Issan 2019 is the second wine of Château d'Issan in Margaux. The estate's grand vin is classified as a Troisième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, while Blason d'Issan was introduced in 1995 as a selection from younger vines and selected parcels within the Margaux appellation.
The 2019 vintage is made from 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. It carries the signature of a warm year, yet the château also points to warm days and cool nights during ripening, giving the wine ripe aromatics with freshness and tannic structure. The gravel surface soils with deeper clay layers are mentioned by the estate as an important factor during the heat periods of June and July.

Blason D'Issan 2020
In stock
Blason d'Issan 2020 is the second wine of Château d'Issan from Margaux in Bordeaux. It is made to be more approachable than the estate's grand vin, while still carrying the identity of the same appellation: selected fruit, parcel-by-parcel work and a classic red Bordeaux frame.
The 2020 blend brings together 57% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot. That small share of Petit Verdot is worth noting, as 2020 was the first vintage in which it became part of Blason d'Issan, coming from parcels added to the estate through Pontac-Lynch. It gives this release a specific place in the recent story of the wine.
The grapes were hand-harvested and vinified by parcel in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Maturation took place in barriques, (…)Blason D'Issan 2021

Blason D'Issan 2021

Blason D'Issan 2021 is the second wine of Château d'Issan, from Margaux in Bordeaux. It shares the setting and identity of the estate's grand vin, but is made in a more immediately approachable style. The wine comes from Château d'Issan's Margaux vineyards, with younger vines playing an important role in the selection.
For the 2021 vintage, the blend is 52% merlot, 46% cabernet sauvignon and 2% petit verdot. That relatively high proportion of merlot gives this release a generous, fruit-led side, while cabernet sauvignon brings shape and structure. The grapes were hand-harvested, vinified parcel by parcel in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and matured in barriques with 35% new oak.

Blason D'Issan 2022

Blason D'Issan 2022 is the second wine of Château d'Issan, from the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux. Its appeal lies in that close link with a château whose grand vin is listed as a Troisième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, while Blason itself represents a dedicated selection from the estate's Margaux vineyards. The wine was introduced from 1995 to allow that selection to be made with greater precision.
The 2022 vintage reflects a hot, dry growing season, yet Château d'Issan notes that clay in the subsoil helped retain enough water to preserve freshness in the fruit. Harvest took place entirely in September, from the 15th to the 28th, something the estate mentions as only the third time in its history. The blend is 55% merlot, (…)Chateau D'Issan 2020

Chateau D'Issan 2020
In stock
Château d'Issan 2020 is the grand vin of this historic Margaux estate, a red Bordeaux from France with a firm place in the Médoc tradition. The château is classified as a Troisième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, yet the 2020 vintage is especially noteworthy because it represents a new step in the estate's own story.
Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot form the core of the blend, joined by Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The 2020 vintage was the first in which those three latter varieties were included in the grand vin, linked to parcels from Château Pontac-Lynch. That gives this wine a specific identity within the Château d'Issan line: recognisably Margaux, but with a clear marker of change for the estate.

Château d'Issan 2021 is the grand vin of Château d'Issan in Margaux, Bordeaux. It is a dry red French wine from the Margaux AOC and the estate is classified as a Troisième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is a bottle we would introduce through its sense of place: Margaux, older vines inside the walled part of the château, and a vintage defined more by freshness and precision than sheer weight.
The 2021 blend brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. It was only the second vintage in which Château d'Issan used all five permitted red Médoc grape varieties. The grapes for the grand vin come from plots with gravel at the surface and a clay-based (…)Chateau D'Issan 2021 Demi (37,5cl)

Château d'Issan 2021 Magnum is the grand vin of this historic Margaux-Cantenac estate. It is a dry red Bordeaux from the Margaux appellation, classified as a Troisième Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. In magnum format, the wine carries the same identity, but with the added presence that a 1.5-litre bottle brings to the table or cellar.
The wine comes from old vines in the walled heart of the estate, at the centre of Margaux. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the 2021 blend, supported by Merlot and small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The presence of all five classic red Bordeaux varieties gives this vintage a distinctly classical Bordeaux frame.
